Graduate Planning Enforcement Officer

Graduate Planning Enforcement Officer

Planning
£26,403 - £31,022 per year

Join Lancaster City Council as a Graduate Planning Enforcement Officer and play a vital role in supporting the Planning & Climate Change Service, in many aspects. You will contribute towards the community, assisting in the critical function of the Service by ensuring compliance with planning regulations, through effective enforcement activities, to make a difference. Your work will help to directly support the modernisation of our Planning Enforcement Team, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of our community with high standards and integrity.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will manage your own caseload of minor enforcement cases, keeping detailed records and liaising with the public, councillors, internal and external agencies. Assisting senior officers, you’ll prepare statutory documents for court cases and represent the Council when needed. Collaboration with colleagues across teams, including the Councils Legal Officers, Tree Protection, Conservation and Policy Officers, enable the team to deliver excellent service.

You’ll Fit Right In If…
You are organised, enthusiastic, and eager to use and develop your communication skills. Whether you hold an undergraduate qualification or nearing completion and ready for graduation, your ability to work independently and as part of a team will help you thrive. A full driving licence is essential for this role. You’ll share our values of Working Together, Ambition, Pride, and Ownership, contributing positively to our community-focused ethos.
