Business Manager
You've spent years inside the system. You know how councils think, how TA placements really work, and why some providers get the call while others don't. Now use everything you know — on the other side of the table.
Carylls Country House is an established, self-contained temporary accommodation property (20+ units) in Horsham, West Sussex, housing families placed by local authorities. It ran at near-full occupancy for years until a shift in council procurement opened a gap.
Your mission: rebuild the pipeline and fill every unit. Business development comes first. You'll engage housing options and TA teams across Sussex, Surrey, and London boroughs placing out of area; negotiate block bookings, PSL-style leases, and framework arrangements; and build referral routes through housing associations, DA networks, probation, and hospital discharge teams. A calm, settled, well-run house is the best sales pitch there is — you'll make sure Carylls stays that way.
You are: someone with direct experience in council housing options, homelessness, or TA teams (or provider side equivalents). You know Part 7, the HRA 2017, suitability, and subsidy dynamics. You pick up the phone, knock on doors, and follow up relentlessly. Willing to live on-site. Everything else, we can teach. We can't teach insider knowledge or hunger.
The package:
• £40,000–£45,000 salary + up to £10,000+ performance bonus — based on pre-defined occupancy targets and other KPIs
• Rent-free one-bedroom apartment on-site — zero commute, no rent
• Total effective package £60,000+
