Lead Recovery. Inspire Change. Shape the Future

Are you an experienced Mental Health Social Worker looking for your next leadership opportunity?

This is an exciting time to join Enfield’s Mental Health Enablement Service (MHES). We are transforming the way we deliver recovery-focused support, strengthening our partnerships and improving outcomes for adults with severe and enduring mental health needs.

We’re looking for an ambitious and experienced Social Worker who shares our passion for recovery, strengths-based practice and high-quality social work. This is an opportunity to influence practice, support colleagues, develop innovative ways of working and help shape the future of a growing specialist service.

If you are looking for a role where your leadership and ideas will be valued, we would love to hear from you.

About the Service

The Mental Health Enablement Service supports adults with severe and enduring mental health needs to achieve greater independence, improve wellbeing and live fulfilling lives within their communities.

Working alongside health colleagues, housing providers and voluntary sector partners, we deliver recovery-focused interventions that help people build confidence, reduce reliance on services and achieve positive long-term outcomes.

We are entering an exciting new chapter as we prepare to move into our newly refurbished Mental Health Wellbeing Hub at Park Avenue, Enfield, and continue to develop a high-performing, evidence-based service.

About the Role

As a Senior Social Worker, you will work closely with the Service Manager to provide professional leadership across the service.

You will:

  • Lead on complex mental health cases.
  • Provide professional supervision, guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Champion strengths-based, person-centred practice.
  • Support quality assurance, service development and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with health, housing and community partners.
  • Help embed high-quality recording, performance and outcome-focused practice.
  • Deputise for the Service Manager when required.
  • Support practice education, safeguarding and Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) development where appropriate.

About You

You will be a registered Social Worker with Social Work England and have substantial post-qualification experience within Adult Social Care and/or Mental Health Services.

You will have:

  • Excellent knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding legislation.
  • Experience of leading or supervising staff.
  • Strong assessment, analytical and risk management skills.
  • Excellent partnership working and communication skills.
  • A commitment to recovery-focused and strengths-based practice.
  • Experience managing complex cases within multidisciplinary settings.
  • A passion for improving services and developing others.

Why Join MHES?

We know that people don’t just choose a job—they choose a team and a culture.

At MHES you will benefit from:

  • A supportive and visible leadership team.
  • Opportunities to influence the future direction of the service.
  • Regular supervision and protected professional development.
  • Leadership and career progression opportunities.
  • A collaborative multidisciplinary team.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of people with mental health needs.
  • A newly refurbished working environment at Park Avenue.

A Message from the Service Manager

We are building a service that puts recovery, innovation and partnership at the heart of everything we do. I am looking for a Senior Social Worker who wants to inspire others, influence practice and help shape the future of Mental Health Enablement in Enfield. If you are passionate about making a real difference, we would love to welcome you to our team.
