As a Support Mentor, you will contribute to successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our participants back into the community. You will work alongside various stakeholders and partners and engage with our participants through various key working activities to identify the needs, goals and skills, then provide pathways, support, and appropriate interventions to support with successful resettlements.&nbsp;

Penrose RBKC SHAP Latimer Road&nbsp;is a high support service for entrenched rough sleepers with a dual diagnosis. &nbsp;This services seeks innovative ways to overcome barriers to recovery and works with the residents towards lower support and independent living.
Penrose RBKC Complex Needs&nbsp;service specialising in supporting people with multiple needs, accommodation and community-based support. We help people that struggle with daily living, mental illness, substance and alcohol abuses, homelessness or offending backgrounds by providing them with support to overcome difficulties existing because of their life circumstances.
We strive to address the inequality of access to health, employment, training, and social care support for people with multiple needs .We understand that many people accessing our services have had to endure trauma and we respond to the impact of these adverse experiences through person-centered, trust-building and compassionate support.&nbsp;

We work alongside various partners and stakeholders so we are looking for a Support Mentor who can adapt and work well alongside other teams.
OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Act as a primary support mentor for a caseload of participants with different needs.</li>
<li>Provide face to face support, and contribute to the development of support plans, risk assessments, and reviews to a high standard.</li>
<li>Create and implement SMART support plans in collaboration with participants.</li>
<li>Participate in and encourage participants involvement in various projects, activities, and initiatives.</li>
<li>Support the service and team to meet key KPIs and objectives.</li>
<li>Recognise support needs in an individual and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent further deterioration.</li>
<li>Complete safeguarding and other referrals where required.</li>
<li>Ensure all participants understand their rights and responsibilities and have access to the right tools and resources, to support them back into society and building networks.</li>
<li>Provide advice, information, guidance and life skills training to participants.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external persons and agencies.</li>
<li>Administration duties will vary. may include but is not limited to; complete participant records, reports, support plans, risk assessments, case notes, and other documentation for internal and external stakeholders as required and with accordance to policy and procedure.</li>
<li>Other duties may include but not limited to, maintain clean and tidy offices and communal areas, removing rubbish, reporting repairs and ordering/replenishing supplies.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.&nbsp;
KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:

<li>Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours or a good understanding of the sector.</li>
<li>IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience</li>
<li>Ability to manage own caseload and determine priorities with time management. Able to use own initiative</li>
<li>Understanding and/or practical application of key legislation regarding social care, housing, criminal justice and mental health</li>
<li>Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with mental health issues, addiction, exploitation, homelessness and within the criminal justice system</li>
</ul>
What we would like, but not essential:
<ul>
<li>Experience working with different agencies/organisations and understanding the multi-disciplinary approach (For example working alongside MAPPA)</li>
<li>Appropriate professional qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Community Justice/Psychology or professional equivalent</li>
<li>Experience of providing housing support and practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role</li>
<li>Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs</li>

You will have experience in dealing with children, young people and their families with complex needs. Your remit will include taking responsibility for a caseload including child in need work, child protection, where required initiate court proceedings and undertaking a range of duties and responsibilities on behalf of the Department.&nbsp;As a Social Worker within Children's Family Help and Safeguarding Service, you will have a manageable caseload comprising of Child Protection, Children in Need cases and some court work.You will have the skills and ability to undertake complex assessments of children and their families and formulate intervention plans that address the identified needs.You will provide direct social work intervention to children and families in need, undertaking direct work with children ensuring their views and wishes are obtained and are incorporated into the care planning and intervention provided.&nbsp;As a Social Worker supporting and monitoring children in need and those subject to child protection plans, you will be skilled in identifying and addressing risk, and work alongside families to ensure the children’s safety, development and wellbeing are paramount.This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. Location:&nbsp;Based at our head office in Islington, London (10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station) with cross working in various prisons across England, Community sites, and home working
Salary:&nbsp;£47,000 (Full time equivalent)
Shift Pattern:&nbsp;22.5 hours per week Monday to Friday between 09:00 - 17:00 with some flexibility. You may be required to work outside these hours as per service requirements.
About the role
This is a brand new role, supporting the Head of Safe Ground with the strategic oversight and delivery of our programmes. Safe Ground has been at the forefront of designing and delivering innovative arts-based, therapeutically informed interventions within the criminal justice system and in communities across the UK. As we approach our 30th anniversary this year, we remain dedicated to challenging systematic injustice through the programmes we run and the partnerships we build. This role is a great opportunity to be part of our transformative goals, in being part of creating systematic change.
Using theatre arts, and culture, we design initiatives to support those impacted by the criminal justice system in gaining deeper insights into themselves, their relationships and their behaviours. We do this by equipping our participants with practical tools and building a community who are open to doing things differently. In this role, you will develop best practice around creative interventions, building powerful partnerships with commissioners, partners, and other key stakeholders, ensuring our programmes are being delivered to the highest standards. You will lead on the development of new and existing arts-based work, identifying gaps and opportunities for growth within the sector.

<li>Oversee the development of&nbsp;new creative ideas and programmes as well as&nbsp;programme adaptations and redesigns. Ideas could be linked to&nbsp;theatre productions in and out of custodial settings, short films, live events, symposiums, but may also include new art forms and working with new artists</li>
<li>Development of a local / national facilitator network</li>
<li>Create and deliver engaging high-quality programmes which support rehabilitation and reintegration for participants</li>
<li>Design and deliver innovation arts-based high quality training and quality assurance support to management and delivery teams across the SIG network - focusing specifically on relationships, culture and communication, conflict resolution, storytelling, power-sharing and co-production</li>
<li>Lead on the development of creative ideas for Safe Grounds 30th anniversary, including; relationship building and partnership development, advocacy and networking, idea development - radio / stage / film etc</li>
<li>Provide high quality peer-mentoring spaces, leadership, and line management to staff, offering guidance, support, and advice to the team to support them to perform to the best of their abilities. Facilitate the team in identifying solutions to challenges presented in relation to all elements of service delivery</li>
<li>Proactively embed a culture of learning, development, reflection, and evaluation in a psychologically informed environment</li>

About you
We are looking for someone who is ambitious and passionate about supporting people who have experienced multiple disadvantages and social exclusion. You will have proven experience in arts development and strategic support, with an extensive understanding of the criminal justice system and the role in which arts-based interventions play. You will be creative, empowering, and be a dedicated lead in supporting our strategic growth. You will understand arts-based interventions and methodologies, and have experience in developing and delivering creative programmes and productions.

<li>Previous experience in working and engaging with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours</li>
<li>Previous experience in developing, producing, and/or performing professional productions for example film, television, or theatre productions</li>
<li>Proven experience in designing innovative arts-based programmes and extensive experience of facilitation of programmes and/or training for various groups</li>
<li>A theoretical understanding of co-production models and practical application of building them and embedding them into best practice</li>
<li>Previous experience and/or ability to people manage and develop a team</li>
<li>Ability to create, develop, and deliver new programmes and/or creative content in various settings such as prisons, communities, and wider criminal justice settings</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Ability to form and build effective relationships and rapport with others</li>
