The Resources and Business Improvement directorate is led by Dianne Tranmer. It is responsible for: People Function, Facilities Management, Digital Experience Unit and Technology Group, Information Governance, Executive Support Team and leadership of all our shared services across the GLA Group.
The work of the directorate’s teams includes delivery of major events, designing and leading public affairs or marketing campaigns, providing data, evidence and analysis, leading cross-organisational programmes, to making sure we plan for and can respond to emerging events or emergencies in our city.
<h2>About the role</h2>
To deliver the landlord function in co-ordinating, authorising and overseeing the delivery of events and activities at the Authority’s core sites at City Hall, Union Street, Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square Garden.&nbsp; This includes facilitating rallies and protests at the two iconic Squares and promoting spare capacity at the venues to commercial clients to achieve income targets.&nbsp;
<h2>What your day will look like</h2>
<ul>
<li>Delivering the Landlord functions for all events related lettings across the Authority’s core sites. This will include ensuring:</li>

a.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Contracts for lettings are in place and signed,

This includes internal events, GLA organised public facing events, commercial and charity hires, rallies and protests.</li>

<li>Co-ordinate and undertake liaison with key stakeholders, including Mayor’s Office, London Assembly, GLA staff, contractors, event production companies, principal neighbours of Trafalgar Square, Parliament Square Gardens and City Hall, the Metropolitan Police, Local Authorities and other statutory bodies to ensure events comply with relevant regulatory requirements, are well managed and the impact on neighbours is considered and reduced.</li>

<li>Assist and support promoting, marketing and expanding the use of surplus capacity at City Hall and Trafalgar Square for commercial events to meet budgeted annual income targets. Update venue hire advice and information on the Authority’s internet and intranet pages relating to venue hire.</li>

<li>Provide reports and information and communicate relevant details about events and activities to senior staff, internal teams, contractors and other relevant stakeholders.</li>

<li>Carry out condition surveys pre and post events and oversee contractors during the build process to ensure contracted services are safely co-ordinated and any damage incurred is recorded and appropriate recovery action taken.</li>

<li>Work co-operatively with internal facility providers and production companies to ensure that the Authority’s event spaces are maintained and presented to a high standard and works and services are coordinated to support event delivery.</li>

This Committee reviews the effectiveness of our governance and risk management arrangements.
As an Independent member on the Committee, you will serve an important role bringing independent scrutiny to the Committee’s work.
You’ll need to have the skills and experience in one or more of the following areas: local government, governance, audit, finance risk management and internal control. You should also have a connection with the Sevenoaks District, for example living or working here. You’ll need to attend around four evening committee meetings each year.

Managing a service of up to 100 staff the post-holder will lead our ambitions to work proactively within the private rented sector to drive up standards and safety for Lewisham’s residents. You will be working with a supportive established management team, with good quality supervision, and have excellent opportunities for professional development to manage a varied and complex caseload working with children in care.&nbsp;
You’ll develop areas of specialist practice and bring your professional expertise to a range of cases including of complex cases.
As a role model for good practice and champion for your area of expertise, you’ll set performance expectations, striking a balance between support and oversight. As well as coaching and mentoring less experienced staff, you’ll have the opportunity to act as a Practice Assessor for ASYE and student social workers.
You’ll share your knowledge and experience with the team in a number of ways, including, joint visits, court attendance, case audits and reviews, you will have opportunities to contribute to working groups and multi-agency forums to support the development of new initiatives.
About you
Professionally registered with a degree in social work – CQSW, DipSW or equivalent – you’ll have a variety of post-qualification experience of working with children and families. This should cover systemic practice, and you will need an in-depth understanding of legislative and policy frameworks. We’re also looking for the willingness to develop as a practitioner.
Being a team player is essential in any social work team, and you’ll act as a role model and mentor to less experienced colleagues, contributing to training initiatives. The ability to build relationships with colleagues as well as statutory, voluntary, and private sector agencies, will be key.&nbsp;

The successful candidate will enjoy a busy and varied working schedule, liaising with staff, parents, pupils and visitors to the school. In addition the successful candidate will have responsibility for the day to day financial administration at the school and will support the Trust's central team in maintaining our finance records.
There is a substantial amount of computer work involved in this role, so experience of using different information platforms is a must. Training will be provided for specific systems, such as Arbor, our management information system, PS Financials and using the Google cloud.
We are looking for someone who will support our Catholic ethos with a positive and proactive approach to their work, who is bright and enthusiastic with an outgoing disposition. Professionalism at all times and an ability to work well with the team, but to also work efficiently without direction are prerequisites for this position. A minimum of GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and maths are desirable as well as and excellent spoken and written English.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take numeracy and literacy tests, an admin task and have a school based interview.
Closing Date: 12.00 noon on Friday 5th September 2025. Interviews will be on a rolling basis.
