Job Description

Salary range: £17.50 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 0 hours per week
Location: Croydon

Are you passionate about helping children and young people reach their potential through sport? We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Casual Sports Coaches to deliver inclusive sports and physical activity sessions for children and young people with disabilities across community programmes and initiatives.

As a Casual Sports Coach, you will plan and deliver safe, fun, enjoyable and progressive coaching sessions at a variety of locations across the borough, while ensuring the wellbeing and safety of participants at all times. You will work within the Sport & Leisure Team to create positive sporting experiences that support participation, development and inclusion.

Person Specification

  • A recognised National Governing Body coaching qualification (minimum Level 1 or equivalent).
  • Experience of sports coaching and working with children and young people.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and support children and young people during coaching sessions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and continuous professional development.

Additional information

This is a casual role requiring flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, weekends and school holiday periods. The successful candidate must be able to travel independently across the borough and will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
