Description

Our Cadets Need You!

Empower the next generation by using your skills and experience to mentor and inspire our cadets, building their confidence, and strengthening the bond between policing and our communities.

Currently based at either Derby, Ripley, Chesterfield or Glossop, you’ll play a key part in shaping the future of our Cadets, who are eager to learn, develop life skills, and contribute positively to their communities.

Join us as a Volunteer Cadet Leader with Derbyshire Constabulary and you will truly get back as much as you give; watching our Cadets grow while developing your own skills and knowledge.

What’s involved?

Cadet Leaders are responsible for supervising, supporting, coaching and mentoring our Cadets during weekly term-time meetings. You’ll participate in engaging sessions that cover a variety of topics including:

  • Police procedures
  • Criminal law
  • Crime prevention
  • Team-building activities
  • Life skills

As a Cadet Leader, working as part of a team, you’ll also have the opportunity to support Cadets undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh, community events, and even assist with police training exercises.

We’ll provide you with all the training and support you need!

If you have:

  • Enthusiasm and the ability to regularly commit your time (to suit you)
  • The ability to supervise a team of young people and help them to achieve set objectives
  • Basic IT skills and able to reliably communicate availability
  • Are 18 or over and have lived in the UK for the past 3 years

Get ready to make a difference…
