Highway Engineer

Engineering
£43,680 - £45,750 per year

Location: Lynton House

Permanent – Full time

As soon as people step outside their homes, they experience and rely on the Redbridge highway network.

Do you want to help shape, support, and contribute to the safety and continuous improvement of Redbridge’s streets, ensuring our communities can travel across the borough confidently, safely, and efficiently? Our aim is to maintain a well‑managed public highway that allows residents to walk, cycle, drive, or use public transport with ease.

Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse, and forward‑thinking east London borough committed to providing high‑quality services and safe infrastructure for our residents. We continue to deliver innovative approaches to managing and improving our network, supporting the Council’s wider transformation programme. This is an important and dynamic time for the London Borough of Redbridge, and our Highways teams play a central role in keeping the borough safe and moving.

We are seeking a committed Highway Engineer to deliver the planning, design, and management of Redbridge’s highway network assets. Working within a professional and supportive team, you will develop engineering solutions, review designs, manage schemes, and coordinate works to improve a safe and resilient network. This role offers varied office based and on site work across the borough, with opportunities to build your knowledge of highway design, asset management, and project delivery. If you are motivated, detail focused, and passionate about delivering safe streets for all, this role provides an excellent platform for professional growth within a progressive authority.

At Redbridge Highways, we take pride in adopting innovative practices and continuously seeking ways to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our services. Our dedicated team is known for its problem‑solving approach, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes for residents and road users.

Join us and become part of a team that values your contribution, supports your development, encourages collaboration, and is dedicated to ensuring that Redbridge remains a safe and well‑maintained borough for everyone.
