Can you use your experience to inspire teams, build partnerships, and deliver high-quality services that make a lasting difference?

Does the idea of joining an ambitious council and shaping an innovative employment and health programme excite you?

If yes, we have the perfect role for you!

Our Local Economy service is looking for a passionate and dedicated WorkWell Delivery Lead to join our amazing team and help make a difference today.

About the Role:

As the WorkWell Delivery Lead, you will lead the delivery of Southwark's WorkWell programme, helping residents with health-related barriers to access and remain in employment. You will provide operational leadership for a new in-house employment support service, ensuring excellent performance, quality, and compliance with programme requirements.

You will manage and support a team of Work and Health Coaches, build strong partnerships across health and employment services, and ensure the programme delivers positive outcomes for residents while aligning with wider council priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery and development of the WorkWell programme in Southwark.
  • Managing, motivating, and supporting a team of Work and Health Coaches.
  • Building effective partnerships with NHS healthcare providers, council services, and external stakeholders.
  • Working closely with our Connect to Work and wider Southwark Works services to enable a joined-up offer for residents, employers and partners.
  • Overseeing programme performance, governance, quality assurance, and financial management.
  • Ensuring programme outputs, outcomes, and compliance requirements are achieved.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring leader who is passionate about improving lives through employment and public service.

You will bring:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • A proven track record of delivering employment, skills, health, or related support programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and partnership-building abilities.
  • Experience managing complex projects or programmes and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence a wide range of audiences.
  • A commitment to inclusion, social impact, and improving opportunities for residents.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while balancing competing priorities.

About the Team:

Our team is committed to helping Southwark residents achieve positive employment, health, and wellbeing outcomes. We deliver WorkWell and Connect to Work within the council’s Southwark Works service, working collaboratively across council services, healthcare partners, and community organisations to deliver innovative support that meets local needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a new and high-profile programme, shape service delivery from the ground up, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of residents. You'll be part of a supportive and forward-thinking environment that values innovation, partnership working, and professional development
