The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced UK Resettlement Lead to join our UK Resettlement team . The UK Resettlement team are responsible for supporting refugee resettlement programmes within North Somerset, working alongside partner organisations, community groups and statutory agencies to ensure successful integration and support for individuals and families

In this role, you will oversee the delivery of refugee resettlement programmes, provide line management and professional supervision to staff, ensure effective project governance, and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with Home Office requirements whilst maintaining a strong focus on safeguarding and positive outcomes for families and communities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct line management, supervision and appraisal of project and support workers.
• Lead the operational delivery of refugee resettlement programmes.

• Develop and monitor project plans, ensuring effective governance arrangements.
• Undertake risk assessments and manage programme risks appropriately.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, charities and partner agencies.
• Manage programme budgets and financial reporting requirements.
• Produce monitoring information and reports for the Home Office.
• Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are effectively implemented across all areas of work.
• Support service development and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.

Work Style

At North Somerset Council, we offer a hybrid working environment based on four distinct work styles. Depending on the role and personal circumstances, you will fall into one of these categories. However, please note that during the induction period, it may be necessary to spend more time in the office to support your learning and development. We are flexible and open to discussions about your preferred working style, and if you wish to be in the office more frequently, this can be negotiated.

This role falls into the category of Flexible Worker which means you can expect to work in the following way:

• 2-3 days in the office
• Works both from home and the office, depending on the task at hand.
• Training is provided to help balance work-life and manage time effectively, with an emphasis on communication for team touchpoints and planning in-office days for collaboration.

About You

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about Resettlement work, and who possesses the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria:

• Qualified to Level 4 or above in a relevant field.
• Experience working with children, young people and families with complex needs.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Experience delivering one-to-one and group interventions.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Curious, reflective and solution-focused approach.
• Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice.
• Confidence in offering mentoring, guidance and decision-making support.
• Experience supporting and leading staff.

Ability to facilitate peer support groups.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience of refugee resettlement programmes.
• Experience working with community and partnership projects.
• Knowledge of Home Office funding and reporting requirements.
• Understanding of financial management and budget monitoring.
