Senior Insurance Officer (Temp)

Senior Insurance Officer (Temp)

Finance
£21.41 - £22.41 per hour

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Insurance Team, part of the Council's Financial Services.

As part of the Council's commitment to providing high-quality and efficient services, we are looking to recruit a Senior Insurance Officer to support the Council's Insurance Team. You will work closely with the Insurance Manager to deliver a range of insurance services across the Council, helping to minimise the Council's exposure to financial loss and liability.

You will:

  • Ensure all insurance claims are properly recorded and allocated.
  • Utilise the Council's computerised insurance claims package, LACHS (Local Authority Claims Handling System).
  • Support the Insurance Manager with annual insurance renewals and tenders.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Respond to customer queries and escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to current ways of working to deliver a more efficient and effective insurance service.

The Council operates a hybrid working policy, with current expectations that staff work in the office between 1–3 days per week, depending on service needs.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience of:

  • Processing insurance claims within a busy Insurance Team.
  • Insurance claims management.
  • Creating financial and risk analysis reports.
  • Managing significant insurance renewals and tenders.
  • Delivering insurance services in accordance with relevant professional insurance standards.
  • Working in a highly organised manner with excellent time management skills.
  • Learning new processes quickly and applying knowledge effectively.

Additional Information

Due to an expected high volume of applications, we may close this vacancy before the advertised closing date. We therefore encourage you to apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
