Post 16 Education, Employment and Training (EET) Co-ordinator

Post 16 Education, Employment and Training (EET) Co-ordinator

Education
£35,412 - £39,152 per year
Job Introduction

Are you passionate about improving the life chances of children in care and care leavers?

Lincolnshire Virtual School is recruiting a Post-16 Education, Employment and Training (EET) Coordinator to play a key role in supporting children in care and care leavers to access, engage and succeed in education, employment and training opportunities.

About the Role

As a Post-16 EET Coordinator, you will work directly with children in care, care leavers, professionals and employers to improve participation, engagement and achievement in education, employment and training.

You will help young people overcome barriers, raise aspirations and access meaningful opportunities that support their progression into adulthood. Working across Lincolnshire and beyond, you will collaborate with social care teams, colleges, training providers, employers and partner agencies to ensure young people receive the right support at the right time.

This role involves:

  • Supporting children in care and care leavers to access and sustain education, employment and training opportunities
  • Providing practical support with applications, CV writing, interview preparation and progression planning
  • Developing strong relationships with employers, training providers and education settings
  • Identifying and creating work experience, apprenticeship and employment opportunities
  • Advocating for young people and helping partners to remove barriers to participation
  • Using data and intelligence to identify trends, target support and improve outcomes
  • Promoting innovative approaches that increase engagement and reduce the risk of young people becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training)

You will be part of a dedicated and ambitious team that is committed to ensuring every young person has the opportunity to achieve their aspirations and successfully transition into adulthood.

Lincolnshire is one of the largest county councils in the UK and we are ambitious for both the residents of our county and the people who work here. We care about our staff and are committed to supporting a positive work/life balance alongside opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills in a supportive Local Authority setting.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and enabling them to achieve positive futures.

You will:

  • Have experience of working with children, young people or care leavers within education, children's services, careers guidance or a related field
  • Be skilled at building positive and effective relationships with young people, families, employers and professionals
  • Be able to advocate for young people and confidently challenge barriers that impact on their opportunities
  • Have strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and the ability to create and implement operational plans
  • Be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and partnership-working skills
  • Be able to analyse information, identify needs and develop practical solutions
  • Have a commitment to inclusion, equality of opportunity and improving outcomes for children in care and care leavers
  • Be creative, resilient and motivated to find opportunities and solutions that support young people's aspirations

Knowledge of education, employment and training pathways, careers guidance, apprenticeships or leaving care services would be advantageous. Understanding the challenges and vulnerabilities experienced by children in care and care leavers will be essential to success in this role.

About Our Offer

Along with a competitive salary, we are offering:

  • A contributory pension
  • Comprehensive benefits package including discount schemes and cycle to work
  • Flexible working policies
  • Career progression opportunities
  • A generous annual leave entitlement, plus the option to buy more

At Lincolnshire County Council, we believe our people are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we offer a rewarding package designed to support your work–life balance, health and wellbeing, financial security, and career growth. Find out more about our offer to you in the attached brochure.
