Medication Co-ordinator, Brookfield Centre, St Helens

Are you organised, detail-focused and passionate about ensuring the safe management of medication?

We are looking for a Medication Co-ordinator to join our dedicated team at the Brookfield Centre. This is an important role within our multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure that service users receive safe, effective and person-centred support in relation to their medication needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with service users, healthcare professionals, GPs, pharmacists and colleagues to maintain high standards of medication management and regulatory compliance.

Roles That Matter

As a Medication Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the safe administration, monitoring and auditing of medication within the service. You will ensure accurate record keeping, maintain medication stock levels and promote best practice in line with safeguarding, health and safety and equality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check and maintain service user medication stock levels.
  • Order repeat prescriptions and medication as required.
  • Liaise effectively with GPs, pharmacists, healthcare professionals and duty managers.
  • Complete medication checks for new admissions and maintain Medication Administration Records (MARs).
  • Undertake regular medication audits and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of medication-related information to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Promote and maintain health, safety and security within the workplace.
  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Support compliance with Council policies, procedures and best practice guidance.
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of medication management within a health, social care or support setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Has strong communication skills and can build positive relationships with professionals and colleagues.
  • Understands safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
  • Is able to work accurately and pay close attention to detail.
  • Can prioritise workloads and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Is committed to promoting equality, dignity and person-centred care.
