    Are you enthusiastic and dedicated to making a real impact on young minds? We are seeking a motivated and inspiring School Counsellor to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our children and young people.

    What you’ll be doing:

    The School Counsellor will play a vital role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of students at Arc School Old Arley. The position involves working closely with students, parents, and staff to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment that fosters learning, personal growth, and well-being.

    • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students, designed to address their emotional and behavioural challenges
    • Develop tailored care plans to cater to the diverse needs of students
    • Facilitate workshops and programmes on topics such as, but not limited to, stress management, emotional resilience, managing adversity.
    • Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions and student progress, ensuring confidentiality

    What we’re looking for:

    • Relevant Counselling qualification (minimum BACP Diploma in counselling)
    • GCSE English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent
    • Qualification in an aspect of therapeutic intervention (e.g. music therapy, play therapy, art therapy, CBT, DBT)
    • BACP/UKCP registration
    • Relevant, recent post-qualification experience of working in a school setting or with children as a practicing therapist or counsellor
    • Experience of working with neurodivergent children with SEN needs

    Opened in 2015, Arc School Old Arley is an independent special day school situated within a rural village near Nuneaton, affording children and young people the opportunity to take part in a range of activities within the local community.The spacious school environment is bright and welcoming with a variety of different learning spaces inside and outside

    Arc School Old Arley is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
