The role provides generic housing management services including anti-social behaviour management, arrears management including debt and benefit advice, void management and lettings and general tenancy management ensuring income maximisation, efficient letting of homes and that tenants receive great customer service throughout their tenancy. The Housing Officer role is a fully generic role delivering a comprehensive housing management service to a cohort of Portsmouth Homes tenants. The role is predominantly reactive, to help support and empower tenants to be able to sustain and maintain their tenancies and live their best lives, whilst feeling safe and secure in their homes and communities. Responsibility starts with the viewing of an empty property, with prospective tenants, and the need to ensure that the property meets their Housing Need and is suitable in terms of other factors. Our operatives work closely with supervisors, surveyors, and schedulers to provide a responsive and efficient service for our residents. The plumbing team focuses on repairs and maintenance to communal and estate-based plumbing systems; while also carrying out related tasks associated with plumbing, such as minor brickwork or groundwork where required to complete the job. About the Role: As a Plumber within Community Works, you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of plumbing repairs and installations, as well as undertaking minor groundwork and bricklaying tasks where required. You will work across communal areas and estates, delivering work to a high standard, on time, and in line with health and safety requirements. Your flexibility to take on multiple trade tasks will help reduce reliance on contractors and ensure residents receive a seamless service. To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence: <ul> <li>Proven experience in plumbing repairs and maintenance, ideally within a housing or public sector environment.</li> <li>Experience in minor groundwork and bricklaying tasks (desirable).</li> <li>Knowledge of relevant health and safety standards and safe working practices.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality repairs.</li> <li>Good communication and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Ideally, you will hold an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in plumbing; however, applicants with significant relevant experience will also be considered.&nbsp;</li> </ul> We particularly welcome applications from Lambeth residents.
