Job Description

Salary range: £34,998 - £39,276 (pro-rata) p.a. inc. London weighting (plus fantastic benefits!)
Contract: Fixed Term - 12 months
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time

The Post

An exciting opportunity within Brent Customer Access has arisen in our Revenues & Debt service.

The successful post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all Council Tax, Business Rates, Adult Social Care Debt, Parking and Road Traffic, Sundry Debt and Housing Benefit Overpayments is billed, collected and recovered in accordance with prevailing legislation, case law, local policy and procedures.

Billing activities include for all lines of debt; identification of the correct liable parties and liability dates, nature of service provided, assessing entitlement to discounts exemptions, reduction and refunds, the maintenance of accurate billing and invoicing records for all customers, database management across all lines of revenue
and debt.

The successful candidate is one who can work effectively as part of a team and takes pride in their work.

The Person

You need to possess some knowledge and understanding of Council Tax, Business Rates, Adult Social Care Debt, Parking and Road Traffic, Sundry Debt and Housing Benefit Overpayments regulations. You need to have energy, be well organised, be positive and passionate in your approach and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

The successful candidate will need to be able to prioritise and manage their workload and ensure that team targets are achieved. Candidates need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with customers and liaise with other departments to obtain information to maintain accurate records.
