We are seeking an experienced and proactive Housing Compliance Manager to join our team and to lead and manage compliance across our housing maintenance service. The position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative environment, develop your skills and contribute to achieving our service goals.&nbsp;
This is a key role ensuring that Dartford Borough Council meets all statutory and regulatory requirements relating to housing health and safety, including gas, electrical, fire safety, water hygiene, and asbestos management.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust compliance frameworks, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement to keep our residents safe and our properties compliant.
As a landlord we currently have responsibility for buildings up to 11m in height, with no dwellings above this height. As the postholder you will have responsibility to oversee a team of compliance surveyors, a compliance officer and administrator.

This role is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of housing management services to a dedicated patch serving approximately 400 homes. The role provides generic housing management services including anti-social behaviour management, arrears management including debt and benefit advice, void management and lettings and general tenancy management ensuring income maximisation, efficient letting of homes and that tenants receive great customer service throughout their tenancy. The Housing Officer role is a fully generic role delivering a comprehensive housing management service to a cohort of Portsmouth Homes tenants. The role is predominantly reactive, to help support and empower tenants to be able to sustain and maintain their tenancies and live their best lives, whilst feeling safe and secure in their homes and communities. Responsibility starts with the viewing of an empty property, with prospective tenants, and the need to ensure that the property meets their Housing Need and is suitable in terms of other factors. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Services Advisor to join our team based at Tonbridge Castle.&nbsp;
Reporting to the Tonbridge Castle, Events &amp; Customer Services Manager, you will undertake a customer facing role supporting our telephony service to residents providing excellent multi skilled customer service across all access channels as well as Tonbridge Tourist Information Centre, Castle Attraction and Conference Centre.
Educated to GCSE grade C standard or above in maths and English (or equivalent), you will have previous experience of providing a customer focussed, front-line, public enquiry service. &nbsp;You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and demonstrate confident IT skills.
There is a lot to learn, so you must be prepared to assimilate and retain a large amount of information quickly and demonstrate a “can-do” approach to your work. &nbsp;In return we will give you excellent ongoing training and support.
This is a part time vacancy, and our offices are open seven days a week.&nbsp;
This role requires a Basic DBS check which will be obtained by The Council as part of your pre-employment checks.&nbsp;
Weekend and bank holiday rotation Approx 1 in 5
Monday 7.5hrs – 9am to 5pm (30min lunch)
Tuesday 7.5hrs – 9am to 5pm (30min lunch)
Wednesday – 9am to 3.45pm (30min lunch)
