This is a major piece of work, which will include mapping of existing protections, collecting evidence about how they are used and by whom including wide stakeholder engagement with the parks and green spaces sector, community empowerment stakeholders, local authorities property developers. Do you have exceptional written and oral communication skills?</p><p>If so, we have an exciting opportunity for 3 Policy Advisors to join our team at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and we'd love to hear from you!</p><p>MHCLG plays an important role in housing with care and support to the most vulnerable through setting national policy direction for supported housing and domestic abuse safe accommodation. Three SEO policy advisor roles are available within the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Directorate in MHCLG.</p><p>MHCLG plays a critical role in the Government’s ambition to halve violence against women and girls within the next decade. One role is available in the Domestic Abuse team whose work ensures victims and their children have access to safe accommodation and specialist support when fleeing abuse. We lead on policy development, and provide guidance and funding to local authorities who have statutory duties in the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. We monitor delivery across England and work closely with partners to resolve challenges. </p><p>The successful candidate will work closely with other government departments (Home Office, Ministry of Justice), local authorities, and domestic abuse organisations, including the Domestic Abuse Commissioner’s Office and Women’s Aid. </p><p>MHCLG is the cross-Government lead for supported housing policy including supply and quality, working particularly closely with DWP and DHSC, and also with DfE and MoJ. Two roles are available within the Supported Housing team. Supported Housing enables more than half a million vulnerable people to live in a home they can call their own, with the support or care they need to be as independent as possible. This includes older, disabled and autistic people as well as those experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness and rough sleeping. </p><p>We are currently implementing reforms set out in the landmark Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act which will give local authorities new powers to clamp down on sub-standard landlords running poor quality supported housing. This includes working with representative bodies such as the Local Government Association, National Housing Federation and Chartered Institute of Housing, as well as other departments and regulators. </p><p>These are stretching roles working on the development and implementation of complex policy to ensure that vulnerable people receive the support they need. All 3 roles involve working extensively with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery, with significant Ministerial interest.</p><h4>Job description</h4><p>The Domestic Abuse job holder will:</p><ul><li>Lead on the delivery of two evaluation process research projects working closely with social researchers and contractors. The current Met Office Data Assimilation (DA) system is not expected to be efficient across the range of possible alternative HPC solutions likely to be available on the 2025 timescale. The new software is being developed within the Joint Effort for Data assimilation Integration (JEDI) framework from the Joint Centre for Satellite Data Assimilation (JCSDA).</p><p>The Met Office provides an opportunity for talented scientists to apply their skills to real-world problems, with impacts upon services that reach all our lives. Within the organisation, you will work in the team working on the Assimilation of Earth observations, part of the Satellite and Surface Assimilation (SSA) section of Weather Science. Data assimilation is the process of combining observational data with output from a numerical model to produce a statistically optimal estimate of the initial conditions for weather prediction. The Met Office is at the forefront of DA applications in operational Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) and it is an exciting time to be working in this area. <h4>Job summary</h4><p>This is a Fixed-Term Appointment (FTA) due to the time-limited nature of the role within DARR programme. <h4>Job summary</h4><p><strong>The Independent Football Regulator</strong></p><p>The Independent Football Regulator (IFR) has been established to protect and promote the sustainability of English football, for the benefit of fans and the local communities football clubs serve. </p><p>The IFR will help improve financial sustainability of clubs, ensure resilience across the leagues, and safeguard the heritage of English football. It will operate a licensing regime; set corporate governance standards and monitor, protect, and promote financial resilience. It will also enforce compliance with requirements on financial regulation, club ownership and directors, fan engagement, and heritage protection.</p><p>The IFR will also have powers to prohibit clubs from joining competitions that are not fair or meritocratic, or that threaten the heritage or sustainability of English football.</p><h4>Job description</h4><p>The role of Intelligence is to focus resources in the most effective way. This is where most colleagues will meet to collaborate, both with each other and with stakeholders.</p><p>As we operate across Wales, we also have limited office and collaboration space in Welsh Government offices in Llandudno Junction, Aberystwyth, Swansea and Merthyr Tydfil.</p><p><strong>Main Purpose of the job</strong></p><p>The Investment and Monitoring team is responsible for investing and monitoring a budget in excess of £972m, allocated for the provision of education at further education colleges, local authority maintained school sixth forms and adult community learning, and apprenticeship providers, as well as funding and monitoring other higher education funding streams for teaching, research and innovation. </p><p>The officer role is critical in ensuring the grants system reflects budget decisions made by Medr’s Board and reconciles with the finance system.</p><h4>Job description</h4><p><strong>What you'll be doing</strong></p><p>You will:</p><ul><li>Providing a high level of support and guidance to Project and Policy Managers across Medr, to promote awareness of the organisation’s grant management processes;</li><li>Support Project and Policy Managers in the production of funding publications and grant award letters, ensuring they are issued to providers in-line with Medr standards;</li><li>Upload all grant awards for all tertiary providers onto the grant system, seek approvals and schedule months payments, ensuring a high level of compliance;</li><li>Maintain a live financial payment profile log for all grants across Medr and engage with Project and Policy Managers and Finance Team colleagues, to ensure all required payments can be made in-line with funding schedules;</li><li>Complete and record the results of a detailed set of tests for both Medr’s grants and finance systems, to ensure the systems operate as required. They work across Medr with policy, data and analysis, finance and performance teams to ensure our strategic priorities are funded and offer the very best value for money. They have developed credible and strong working relationships with partners and keep abreast of emerging priorities such as net zero and Welsh language provision. The team will work with both internal and external stakeholders using a co-production approach to refine existing funding methodologies and to design and implement new funding approaches to achieve policy priorities.</p><p>The team includes 13 people who are geographically dispersed within the Development, Investment and Performance Directorate. Much of these woodlands have significant recreational, heritage and conservation value. </p><p><strong>Solent Beat: </strong></p><p>Mixed woodland blocks spread across south central Hampshire and including the Isle of Wight. Forest management includes PAWS restoration, diversifying species and age structure and moving to continuous cover forestry, as well as responding to current tree pests and diseases e.g. Ash dieback. The beat area includes several Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). It includes several Leasehold woods where public access is limited as well as locally popular woods with members of the public.</p><p>The job-holder will work in a team alongside another Forest Craftsperson and a Tractor driver. Although a managerial role rather than being faith or belief specific, post holders must be endorsed by the respective HMPPS Faith and Belief Adviser.</p><p>The job holder will provide for the religious and pastoral care of prisoners and staff in their own faith or belief tradition, and appropriate pastoral care for all irrespective of faith/belief tradition or of none.</p><p>The job holder will work with colleagues to ensure the delivery of PSI 05/2016 Faith and Pastoral Care for Prisoners or its successor policy framework document and also the broader work of chaplaincy in delivering faith and non-faith based courses. The job holder will contribute to the process by which the Governor and Head of Chaplaincy/Profession at headquarters are assured that these policies are being delivered.</p><p>Responsible for leading on developing relationships with various support and volunteer groups and, where appropriate, act as Official Prison Visitor Liaison Officer.</p><p>Takes responsibility for one’s own spiritual health and development, allowing time for private prayer/reflection, study and retreat.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities, Activities and Duties</strong></p><p>The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:</p><p><strong>Team and Personal Management</strong></p><p>• Responsible for leading and managing a multi-faith and belief chaplaincy team, ensuring chaplains are available and accessible to prisoners, the effective administration of chaplaincy, including prisoner lists for events, records updated etc and promotes HMPPS policy in all activities and behaviours; e.g. diversity, decency, safety and reducing re-offending agendas.</p><p>• Responsible for ensuring prisoners’ complaints (including those involving litigation claims) relevant to the Chaplaincy team, have been dealt with in accordance with policy. Carries out investigations and administration in relation to incidents of potential discrimination and reports on findings.</p><p>• Ensure chaplains and volunteers are receiving necessary training, development opportunities, mentoring and personal support including after incidents as well as for volunteers and nurturing them in their contribution.</p><p>• Accountable for the performance of the Chaplaincy team and the staff within it. Manages the achievement of qualitative and quantitative standards within the function, verifying and signing off documentation asappropriate. Analyse and act upon data relevant to Chaplaincy. Attends relevant boards/meetings and actively contribute either as chair or team member, produces relevant reports as required and ensures all correspondence is replied to within agreed timescales.</p><p><strong>Pastoral Care &amp; Worship/Meditation</strong></p><p>• Provide pastoral care and seek to ensure spiritual welfare of prisoners and all staff, including acquiring and distributing appropriate faith/belief literature, supplies and materials. With responsibility for arranging and leading worship/meditation for own faith/belief community, plan, organise hospital visits, weddings, funerals, memorial services, where appropriate. Assist with offenders on release into the community, those serving community sentences or other HMPPS funded community initiatives by agreement.</p><p>• Provide expert faith/belief advice within establishment and be responsible for supporting it in ensuring faith/belief groups observe their religious holy days and festivals and for planning and leading workshops and prayer/faith specific meetings.</p><p>• Responsible for ensuring and delivering awareness programmes for prisoners, including bereavement programmes and lifer programmes, as applicable, and local faith/belief awareness training for staff.</p><p><strong>Stakeholder Relationships &amp; Management</strong></p><p>• Work closely with Safer Custody to ensure issues such as deaths in custody procedures, Assessment Care in Custody Teamwork (ACCT) and Violence Reduction are delivered in-line with HMPPS standards. Ensuring, and contributing to, supporting prisoners in dealing with bereavement by liaising with families/prisoners and other third parties; e.g. hospitals, Coroners’ offices.</p><p>• Responsible for ensuring the involvement of the Chaplaincy team in resettlement issues as appropriate and engage and build contacts with own faith/belief community towards aiding the resettlement of prisoners and for the contact strategy with outside faith/belief-based agencies to help with the resettlement of prisoners.</p><p>Resource &amp; Financial Management</p><p>• Contribute to the establishment’s overall achievement of standards and be accountable for the performance and delivery of targets relating to the budget and People Plan. Responsible for leading the development of local policy, procedures and practice and the implementation of national policy for chaplaincy services. Ensures that current Chaplaincy practice is in line with policy (both national and local). Contributes to the development and delivery of the medium-to-long term strategic and business plan for the establishment, with overall responsibility for implementation within their function. Ensure all risk assessments are undertaken and staff are made aware of their personal responsibility towards health and safety compliance.</p><p>• Responsible for ensuring relevant actions arising from Standard Audit, Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons (HMIP) Action Plans, Quality, Assurance and Development (QuAD) reports, Managing Quality of Prison Life (MQPL) surveys including local self-audit action plans and Resettlement strategies are delivered.</p><p>The duties/responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present and is not intended to be exhaustive.
