Who are we?
Hawley Woods School provides a specialist environment and support primarily for autistic children and those needing a similarly adapted approach with small classes of 6-8 pupils within our calm, nurturing setting. Our school caters for children from the age of 7 up to 16 years (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4). 
We help children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who may be struggling to keep up with the pace of work, may be losing confidence, or struggling with the overwhelming sensory environment of their mainstream school. We also help children who have been out of education for a period of time, to positively re-engage in an education which takes into account any negative experiences they may have had in schools so far.

<h2>About the role</h2>An exciting, fixed term, full-time specialist practitioner position has become available. One of the posts will likely sit entirely within the multi-disciplinary Alternative Provision Taskforce and the other split between this taskforce and the BHISS Social, Emotional and Mental Health Team (SEMH), which currently operates as the city’s behaviour outreach service for 0–16-year-olds. &nbsp;BHISS-SEMH offers support, advice, trainings as well as direct in-school interventions for children whose behaviours are likely to mean they are at risk of suspension. Our key aims are to reduce fixed term suspensions; maintain children’s mainstream placement as well as develop colleagues’ capacity to manage challenge. We also offer a variety of bespoke trainings and forums for staff, both 1-1 and small groups, to discuss challenge as well as devise clear programmes of support for referred children. The ability to ably represent the team at multi-disciplinary meetings across the city is vital.&nbsp;BHISS is located at the Portslade Hub. This means that, for the first time, the CCPC, through independent adjudication officers, can impose administrative financial sanctions for breaches of Irish and EU competition law, subject to Court confirmation.This is an important and exciting time to be involved in the new adjudication function at the CCPC. As the CCPC’s decision-makers, Adjudication Officers will play a vital part in ensuring that the Irish competition regime delivers for consumers and the whole economy.&nbsp;The CCPC consists of a Chairperson and up to six (currently two) Members (together the “Commission”). The Commission is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the organisation to deliver on our mission and meet our statutory and regulatory objectives. Each Division of the CCPC is overseen by a Member of the Commission, led by a Divisional Director and managed by a senior management team from within the Division.&nbsp; We are staffed with people from a wide range of technical backgrounds, including economists, lawyers, digital forensic specialists, investigators, communications professionals and more.&nbsp; Our<a href="https://www.ccpc.ie/business/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2023/11/2024.11.13-100707-CCPC-Strategy-Statement-FINAL-WEB.pdf" target="_blank"> strategy statement </a>outlines the vision, mission, values and goals of the CCPC. Further information on the work of the CCPC can be found at <a href="http://www.ccpc.ie/" target="_blank">www.ccpc.ie.</a><h3>Adjudication Function Overview</h3>The 2022 Act, which transposes Directive (EU) 2019/1 (known as the ‘ECN+ Directive’), establishes a landmark new administrative enforcement regime in Ireland for breaches of EU and Irish competition law.&nbsp; Part 2D of the 2002 Act (as inserted by the 2022 Act) creates a new administrative adjudication regime under which the CCPC,&nbsp; through independent adjudication officers, has the power, subject to court approval, to make decisions concerning alleged infringements of competition law and to impose administrative financial sanctions of up to €10 million or 10% of total worldwide turnover. The CCPC Commission will refer cases for adjudication following the conclusion of investigations by CCPC investigation teams.&nbsp;&nbsp;Part 2D of the 2002 Act creates the role of Adjudication Officers that are nominated by the CCPC and appointed by the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment.&nbsp; Part 2D also provides for the role of Chief Adjudication Officer (“CAO”). A CAO was appointed by the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment on 26 March 2025. The CCPC now intends to nominate a panel of AOs for appointment by the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment.&nbsp;The CCPC has established a Competition Adjudication Unit, responsible for supporting the set-up and operation of the new adjudication function under Part 2D of the 2002 Act. The Competition Adjudication Unit is led by a Director, and it will provide support and assistance to the CAO and AOs in the exercise of their functions.&nbsp; Robust arrangements are in place to ensure clear separation between the CCPC’s investigative and adjudication functions in relation to breaches of competition law and to safeguard the independence of the adjudication regime.&nbsp;<h3>Role Summary</h3>The CCPC requires talented and suitably experienced individuals to act as Adjudication Officers on behalf of the CCPC under Part 2D of the 2002 Act. The successful nominees to the panel will have a demonstrable track record of making objective, proportionate and reasoned high-level decisions in a legal, regulatory and / or business environment.&nbsp;AOs will play a key role in delivering on the CCPC’s mandate by making decisions on behalf of the CCPC in accordance with Part 2D of the 2002 Act. A referral for decision will be made by the CCPC in accordance with section 15M of the 2002 Act following the conclusion of an investigation by the CCPC’s investigation teams. Some of the detail around this decision-making role is set out in Appendix 3. A fundamental requirement of the 2002 Act is that there must be adequate separation between the CCPC’s investigative and adjudicative functions: that is, between the individuals investigating a suspected infringement and the individuals deciding whether an infringement has, in fact, occurred and imposing a fine or other sanction. The 2002 Act contains stringent requirements to ensure that the adjudication function shall be independent, including a requirement that it shall not be accountable or answerable to any person when performing these functions.&nbsp; In practical terms, the CCPC expects that the AOs will:&nbsp;<ul><li>Act as AO for assigned cases, which includes being available to sit in oral hearings</li><li>Make high quality, consistent, proportionate and fair decisions</li><li>Ensure that adjudication of any potentially assigned cases is conducted in accordance with the 2002 Act and best practice case management</li><li>Maintain an open and productive relationship with the CAO and the Adjudication Unit of the CCPC.</li></ul>It is the CCPC’s intention to nominate approximately 15 Adjudication Officer candidates for the role of Adjudication Officer. These individuals will be selected to ensure a wide range of skills and experience, to enable the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment to form a balanced panel, reflecting different areas of expertise including competition law, competition economics, regulatory, legal and international experience in these areas, across the panel of Adjudication Officers.&nbsp;Following appointment to the panel, individual Adjudication Officers (or Divisions of more than one Adjudication Officer) will be assigned to matters by the Chief Adjudication Officer as they arise.&nbsp;The CCPC’s process for selection of candidates is set out in Appendix 1.&nbsp; &nbsp;<h3>Eligibility Criteria</h3>Candidates must satisfy the Adjudication Officer eligibility criteria set out in Regulation 3 of the 2023 Regulations. You must have experience of preparing formal reports, carrying out safeguarding assessments, evaluating risk, and dealing with safeguarding issues.You’ll have the experience and awareness of the underlying issues that contribute to children and young people’s offending behaviour and will want to achieve the best outcomes for them, their family, their victims and the community.The key responsibilities for this role will involve the following: -<ul> <li>To work as part of the Youth Justice Service (YJS) Court Team servicing Birmingham Youth, Magistrates and Crown Court to fulfill the statutory requirements placed on the Youth Justice Service by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and any proceeding legislation.</li> <li>Working in partnership with the Criminal Justice Agencies and the Judiciary. Influencing remand and sentencing decisions, particularly in reducing the use of remands to youth detention.</li> <li>Undertaking assessments including safeguarding and vulnerability to determine the appropriateness of placements in respect of children and young people entering the secure estate and delivering these services in line with the expectations of the Youth Justice Board.</li> <li>To ensure that the appropriate action is taken by the Court Team after each Court session to meet the requirements of the bench upon the Youth Justice Service or its statutory partners. The Mental Health Social Care Team work

We use the Conversation Counts model and the team offer the full
 range of social care interventions for the client group, from

 psychiatric hospital, to initial assessments under the Care Act
 and commissioning of services to meet eligible needs or mental
 health aftercare needs under S117 Mental Health Act 1989 and
 onward reviews. 
 
Good knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act is pivotal to the role
 and experience of court work and Community DOLS is required. We
 welcome applications for AMHPs. The team takes a strengths based
 approach and aims to help individuals tap into support available
 in their local network where possible with an aim of preventing
 needs arising and promoting independence in their own
 home. 
 
We benefit from a mental health reablement service which supports
 our clients to meet their goals and retain independence and
 recover from periods of ill health. 
 
Have a particular focus on reviewing and
 S117 aftercare, you will support the team manager with quality
 assurance of S117 applications across the council and the process
 and we are particularly looking for someone highly organised and
 efficient.
 
You will hold a small varied caseload as well as providing
 supervision, guidance and oversight to a group of social care
 practitioners, operating as the duty manager for the team on a
 rota basis and deputising for the Team Manager as necessary.&nbsp; You
 will contribute to the team performance and positive outcomes for
 our residents. 
 
You will work within the legal framework provided by the statute,
 guidance, policies and procedures.

An exciting opportunity of Shield Team Manager post has become available due to the previous manager being promoted.&nbsp;&nbsp; Shield is an established child exploitation and missing service with ten years of proven impact in reducing missing and exploitation risk.&nbsp;&nbsp; Shield intervention is based upon a trusted relationship approach, utilising various trauma informed models of practice.&nbsp; Due to the successful outcomes demonstrated the team is now expanding with exciting developments in relation to supporting parents, harmful sexual behaviours, transitional support for care experienced, and incorporating lived experience.&nbsp;
This role will also directly be responsible for the line management of range of staff from assistant team manager through to child exploitation workers.&nbsp; The role will also have oversight of our commissioned interventions within the team.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
This role will require you to work with colleagues from across the partnership to ensure our safeguarding intervention response to various forms of harm is delivered to a high standard.&nbsp; A key aspect of the role is working in partnership with the police and other agencies to identify and respond to threats and risks in the community. This includes supporting intelligence gathering, mapping activity, and attending multi-agency forums to ensure timely action and joined-up working.
Previous experience of working within specialist therapeutic services and working in multi-agency teams, managing projects or people, including partnerships and using data intelligently to improve the way things are done will be an advantage.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join North Kent College’s Building Services Engineering team as a Technician.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to provide essential technical support across our range of Building Services Engineering courses, which include Plumbing, Electrical Installation, and Refrigeration &amp; Air Conditioning.
In this varied and hands-on role, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to support the delivery of practical lessons, help prepare and maintain learning materials and equipment and contribute to the smooth running of workshops and training environments. You may also be called upon to assist other areas within the wider Construction and Engineering department.
Key Responsibilities:
