<h3>THE ROLE</h3>
Offshore Petroleum Environmental Inspectors are responsible for inspecting and investigating onshore and offshore petroleum installations situated in the Falkland Islands. The role involves responding to environmental incidents and regulatory non-compliance events and maintaining and participating in an effective 24/7 response capability. The post holder will also contribute to the development of industry guidance, standards and operational strategy.
<h3>THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Be able to demonstrate at least five years’ experience of working in environmental regulation of the offshore petroleum, or another industrial sector presenting major hazards, including reviewing and assessing Environmental Impact Assessments, Safety Cases and any other operator environmental submissions.</li>
<li>Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant Offshore Petroleum Environmental or Science Discipline.</li>
<li>Hold a professional membership of an appropriate institute associated with Health and Safety, Engineering or Science.</li>
<li>Possess a valid OPITO Basic Offshore Survival Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) with Compressed air emergency breathing system (CA-EBS) or equivalent with additional OPITO Minimum Industry Training Standard (MIST).</li>
<li>Have strong and efficient research skills and the ability to gather, sift and understand large amounts of information to identify key trends and issues.</li>
<li>Possess the ability to effectively conduct stakeholder engagement and public consultations.</li>
<li>Have excellent verbal and written communication – ability to express ideas and impart key messages clearly, concisely and effectively.</li>
<li>Be proficient in database, productivity and presentation software such as Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, etc.</li>
<li>Be able to deal credibly with a range of stakeholders including senior civil servants, oil companies and their contractors, other leading members of the business community and the general public.</li>
<li>Be able to deal credibly and effectively manage external professional teams.</li>

The Offshore Petroleum Head of Health, Safety and Environment primarily acts as the de facto Health, Safety and Environmental ‘Regulator’ for all offshore petroleum development activity on behalf of the Government.
The role includes, but is not limited to, providing strategic and tactical leadership of the Health, Safety and Environmental elements of this critical regulatory function and ensuring the regulation of all Falkland Islands offshore petroleum developments take full account of all Environmental and Health and Safety aspects, in line with Falkland Islands Government policy and legislation. The post holder also leads on the development and oversight of industry guidance, standards and operational strategy on behalf of the Government
<h3>THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Have extensive experience (10+years) experience of effectively leading complex and large-scale teams, projects and programmes of a similar level, ideally in a regulatory capacity</li>
<li>Have evidence of working in a senior operational HSE or regulatory roles, including responsibility for effective business and financial planning and project management</li>
<li>Have knowledge/experience of the hydrocarbon industry, or another industrial sector presenting major hazards</li>
<li>Have knowledge/familiarity with energy policy and business models of organisations that govern energy regulatory affairs, including Regulatory Commissions and governing bodies for Environmental Conservation, resource management, and others</li>

The Offshore Petroleum Health and Safety Manager is responsible for leading a team of Inspectors within DMR, the Offshore Petroleum Health and Safety Manager deals with ensuring the regulation of offshore petroleum developments and takes full account of all Health and Safety aspects, through a robust inspection programme and the effective implementation of legislation, in line with Falkland Islands Government policy. The post holder will also contribute to the development of industry guidance, standards and operational strategy.
<h3>THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Be able to demonstrate they have 7 to 10 years’ experience of working in Health and Safety regulation of the oil and gas industry, or another industry presenting major hazards, including reviewing and assessing Environmental Impact Assessments and Safety Cases.</li>
<li>Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a health and safety discipline, or other evidence of suitable training and job experience to the offshore petroleum industry.</li>
<li>Hold a Master’s degree or Post Grad Diploma (or equivalent) in a health and safety discipline containing significant content relating to the offshore petroleum industry</li>

About the Role

Working under the direction of the Countryside Officer (Operations), you will help deliver the infrastructure and facilities that enable high-quality recreation across a diverse and expanding portfolio of sites.
You will oversee day-to-day maintenance and site operations, support and supervise Duty Rangers, and work alongside staff and volunteers to ensure tasks are delivered consistently and efficiently across multiple locations. The role combines practical, on-site problem solving with coordination of planned maintenance, asset monitoring and contractor-led works.
Working closely with colleagues, you will help ensure that play areas, paths, car parks, public facilities and visitor information are well maintained and presented to a high standard. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of recreation services by supporting events and commercial activity, and by feeding into longer-term planning for infrastructure, accessibility and visitor experience.
This role suits someone who enjoys balancing practical outdoor work with organisation and coordination, and who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day delivery while working within a clear management structure in a public-facing countryside setting.

Essential Skills &amp; Experience

<li>Experience supervising or supporting staff and/or volunteers</li>
<li>Full UK driving licence</li>
</ul>
Desirable Skills &amp; Experience
<ul>
<li>Play area inspection qualifications (e.g. RPII)</li>
<li>Experience managing contractors and planned maintenance programmes</li>
<li>Competence with machinery and power tools (e.g. mowers, strimmers, basic repairs)</li>
<li>Understanding of commercial activity within public outdoor spaces</li>
<li>Experience working with inspection, risk or asset management systems</li>

What - Co-opted Governor&nbsp; Where - West Kirby Primary School When - Meetings are every half term, with two in Autumn One.
Make a real difference in children's lives by becoming a Co-opted Governor at our school, where we pride ourselves on being welcoming, kind, polite, and successful.&nbsp;
The role is a voluntary one and involves working strategically with school leaders to help shape the school's vision, set priorities, and support long-term improvement.&nbsp;
Meetings take place every half term, usually starting at 5pm or 6pm, with some reading required beforehand and a willingness to take an active role in discussions. It is estimated that attendance at meetings, reading before meetings, link governor meetings and other governance tasks may take approximately 8 hours per half term, at times this may be more and at times this may be less.&nbsp;
We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with&nbsp; knowledge or experience in:&nbsp; Property, estates or facilities management&nbsp; Health &amp; safety compliance or risk management&nbsp; Construction, surveying or architecture&nbsp;
but if your background is different and you're keen to contribute, we'd love to hear from you too.
