Dartford Borough Council have over 4000 social homes throughout the local area. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council and we are seeking a skilled and experienced Housing Compliance Surveyor to join our compliance team.
The role will have responsibility for asbestos management across our stock and is a critical role ensuring the safety of our residents and properties by carrying out asbestos and legionella surveys and inspections and managing a programme of surveys and risk assessments across our housing stock.
The candidate must be enthusiastic, a good communicator and Asbestos P405 qualified, with experience of managing asbestos and water across housing assets.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and supporting the delivery of safe and effective housing services. You will be required to manage the Asbestos register, ensuring access is achieved by contractors and that the register is always up to date. You will submit notifications to the HSE for notifiable asbestos works in a timely manner to ensure repairs, void and planned works are not delayed.

Key Responsibilities

<li>Day to day responsibility for the management of contractors undertaking asbestos surveys (management, refurbishment, and demolition) in accordance with current legislation and guidance.</li>
<li>Day to day responsibility for the management of contractors undertaking legionella risk assessments and water hygiene inspections.</li>
<li>Manage and oversee the Asbestos Register.</li>
<li>Prepare detailed reports and recommendations following surveys and assessments.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records and update compliance systems.</li>
<li>Advise colleagues and contractors on asbestos and legionella management.</li>
<li>Ensure all works comply with health and safety regulations and internal policies.</li>

About You

<li>Experience in asbestos surveying and legionella risk assessments within housing or a similar environment.</li>
<li>Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice (Control of Asbestos Regulations, ACOP L8).</li>
<li>P405 qualification (or equivalent) for asbestos management is essential.</li>
<li>Legionella risk assessment training or certification is desirable.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and reporting skills.</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and compliance management systems.</li>
<li>Must hold a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.</li>

Under the supervision of the Finance Managers, the post holder will provide support to all schools within the Trust and will include: -

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a lively, dynamic and driven fundraising events team. Over the last decade, Breast Cancer Now has built up a strong events function, with community fundraising and events currently accounting for nearly a quarter of the charity’s overall voluntary income.
Due to internal promotions, we’re now looking for 2 new events officers to play a key role within the team. Managing the delivery of our varied portfolio of challenge events, currently comprising of running, cycling, swimming and trekking challenges and engagement events such as our Carols by Candlelight, supporter focussed events and key internal events too. You’ll be a supporter for hundreds of fundraisers, acting as a point of contact and an ambassador for the organisation to excite and retain our supporters.
This role is a vital role in the events team and is perfect for someone looking to take that next step in their career.
About you
We’re looking for an individual with excellent attention to detail and a passion for charity fundraising. An understanding of and experience with administrative tasks as well as event logistics and working in a fast-paced environment is desirable.
You’ll be a key point of contact with hundreds of our supporters and staff, many of whom will be in touch via email, phone or social media, so an understanding of using these channels and delivering customer service, particularly in the charity sector, is preferable. You should also have a demonstrable ability to work to deadlines and have experience working as part of a team.

Personal Advisor Leaving Care - 12 month fixed term contract
About the Role:
Wirral Leaving Care Service is looking for a dynamic individual who is genuinely passionate about the welfare of our Care Leavers aged 16 - 25; and who will go the extra mile to ensure our young people are safe and achieve their full potential, in all respects.
About the Candidate:
Applicants should have experience of working with the 16 - 25 age group and have a relevant qualification at A-Level or higher. This is an exciting period when Personal Advisors will continue to work with their own individual caseload of young people aged 16 to 25; but also develop, support, participate in and lead project work with groups of young people and other professionals.
Wirral Leaving Care Service was the subject of an Ofsted focused visit in 2024 and has made considerable progress. We are determined to continue to make further progress and improve the support we offer to our young people.
We have a dedicated Hub building for our Care Leavers in central Birkenhead, 'Our Space' / N0 19, which has become the focus and location for much of our new developments, services, and our Leaving Care community.

A Midday Supervisor is one of a team of school staff who are responsible for pupil supervision during the midday break. The post holder will be supervised on a day-to-day basis by our Senior Midday Supervisor.

About the Role

<li>In your role, you will have to write an assessment of the child and co-produce and intervention plan with them. All your work with the child has to be timely recorded.&nbsp;There is a lot of case management and record keeping is an essential part of our job.</li>
<li>We have a duty to safeguard our children whilst also protecting the public: safety assessments, safety management and safeguarding and welfare of the children we work with is an essential aspect of our role.</li>

Candidate Requirements
<ul>
<li>There is an essential requirement for this role to have a&nbsp;qualification in Social Work, Probation Services or Professional Certificate in Effective Practice (PCEP). Consideration for candidates without qualification will only be on the basis of them being currently employed as a youth justice worker in another service and to have held that post for a minimum of 6 months. For this particular role, candidates with a Teaching Qualification will also be considered, as well as anyone who has current experience of working with children in schools.&nbsp; Candidates that do not meet this essential requirement will not be shortlisted.&nbsp;</li>
<li>You are knowledgable about the Child First framework, trauma informed approaches. It is also desireable that you have knowledge of relevant criminal youth justice legislation, National Standards for Children in Youth Justice and Youth Justice Board best practice guidance.&nbsp;</li>
<li>You are familiar with Restorative Justice and the support that victims of crime need.</li>
<li>You can relate and engage with children and families, who have often experienced trauma.</li>
<li>You have experience of working with partners to improve outcomes for children.</li>
<li>You are able to write in an analytical and critical way, interpreting and analysing facts to produce reports and assessments for different audiences.</li>

Gas Safety Officer (FTC)

We are seeking a knowledgeable Housing Options Officer to join our Housing team. This is a vital role in delivering the Council’s Homelessness Strategy, helping to prevent homelessness and supporting residents in housing need.You will provide expert advice and guidance on housing options, investigate homelessness applications, and ensure the Council meets its statutory responsibilities under housing legislation. This role requires compassion, resilience, and the ability to deliver excellent customer service to some of the borough’s most vulnerable residents.You will be responsible for assessing and resolving homelessness applications in line with statutory duties, by carrying out sensitive interviews and home visits to fully understand applicants’ circumstances, along with:Developing action plans with clients to address the causes of homelessness Liaising with landlords, tenants, and partner agencies to sustain tenancies and resolve disputes. Representing the Council at multi-agency meetings and, where required, in court proceedings Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and service standards.To thrive in this role it is essential that you have a strong working knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation (Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, etc. as well as having:Extensive experience in housing advice, homelessness prevention, or a related field. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences. The ability to work under pressure, manage complex cases, and remain empathetic. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
