About the role
We’re looking for a Substance Misuse Worker with experience in mental health and substance use to join our Catford team. Based in a 24 hour residential service, you’ll support adults with severe and enduring mental health needs through rehabilitation and recovery focused support, using your specialist knowledge to help residents and the team overcome personal challenges.
You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will be a specialist in comorbidity, supporting the team to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. Some of your duties will include:

You will carry out wildlife and habitat surveys, maintain monitoring systems and produce reports that inform management plans and funding bids. Key responsibilities:

<li>Contribute to the continuing improvement of the SEND Service for pupil and their families, promoting the Local Authority’s values and working in collaboration with rest of the SEND Service.</li>
<li>To work collaboratively with families, schools and other key partner agencies for individual children and young people with SEND to ensure they are educated and are in receipt of appropriate provision that is in line with their holistic needs.</li>
<li>Working closely with and facilitating engagement with educational settings and relevant practitioners to support, advise and monitor the local offer and to work with schools on individual cases as needed.</li>

You will encourage engagement in activities and the community, provide tools for life skills, and ensure effective risk management with a strong focus on public protection.

Ashford Borough Council is seeking a proactive and technically proficient Residential Building Surveyor to join our Planned Maintenance Team.You will be responsible for inspecting occupied residential properties, diagnosing defects, and managing refurbishment and improvement works from inception to completion, along with:Conducting detailed inspections of ABC housing stock and provide expert analysis of building defects and risks.Preparing specifications, tender documents, and managing procurement processes for planned maintenance projects.Administering contracts, issue instructions, managing budgets, and overseeing remedial works during defect periods. Submitting Planning and Building Control applications. Managing a variety of building works including disabled adaptations and damage-related repairs. Monitoring contractor performance, ensuring quality, value for money, and customer satisfaction. Promoting tenant engagement and contributing to continuous service improvement.This is a dynamic role requiring expertise in building pathology, contract administration, procurement, and statutory compliance so it is essential that you have Minimum experience in residential refurbishment and improvement, along with having:HNC/HND in Building Studies or significant relevant experience. Strong knowledge of Health &amp; Safety legislation and CDM Regulations. Proven project management and contract administration skills. Building Surveyor - Residential

We are seeking an Aids and Adaptations Surveyor to join our Housing Service team where you will play a vital part in enabling residents with disabilities to live independently and safely in their homes.You will be responsible for assessing, specifying, and managing a wide range of property adaptations from minor modifications such as grab rails and ramps, to major projects including wet rooms, structural alterations, refurbishments, and extensions.Working closely with Occupational Therapists, tenants, contractors, and internal teams, you will be responsible for managing projects from referral through to completion, ensuring all works comply with statutory requirements, building regulations, health and safety legislation, and council procedures.Key duties of the role include:Assessing referrals for adaptations and providing clear recommendations for adaptations. Conducting property inspections and preparing feasibility reports, technical specifications, drawings, and schedules of work. Managing adaptation projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. Overseeing contractors and consultants, administering contracts and monitoring performance against KPIs. Liaising with tenants, OTs, and stakeholders to translate assessed needs into practical, safe solutions. Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, CDM requirements, Equality Act, and Health &amp; Safety legislation. Monitoring budgets, verifying invoices, and contributing to financial planning for the adaptations programme.In order to be competent in this role it is essential that you have detailed knowledge of Health &amp; Safety legislation, particularly CDM Regulations, along with having:HNC/HND in Building Studies or significant relevant experience. Extensive experience managing improvement contracts in occupied residential properties. Experience in managing disabled adaptations within people’s homes. Strong project management and contract administration skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
