Students present with a range of learning needs including Autism, Communication, Social and Complex Needs.</p>\n<p>Greenbank also has residential provision which is used as a short break facility for students who attend Greenbank School (Yr9-11).</p>\n<p>This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced middle / senior leader to make significant contributions in the strategic leadership and management of Curriculum, Quality of Education, Attainment and Safeguarding (DDSL) across school.</p>\n<p>In addition to carrying out the professional duties of a teacher, other than a Headteacher, including those duties particularly assigned by the Headteacher, the Deputy Headteacher shall:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Play a major role in the leadership and management of the school.</li>\n<li>Assist in the formulation of the aims and objectives of the school.</li>\n<li>Strategically plan to achieve the aspirations and goals of the school.</li>\n<li>Lead, inspire and motivate staff and pupils.</li>\n<li>Lead an effective team.</li>\n<li>Provide good role models.</li>\n<li>Drive improvements in teaching and learning through Quality Assurance tasks resulting in evidence-based staff development activity.</li>\n<li>Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguard Lead (DDSL)</li>\n<li>Drive, sustain and live the school ethos, values and vision.</li>\n<li>Ensure the sustained improvement of the school by contributing to the SDP and SEF, and attend professional meetings with the SIC implementing recommendations.</li>\n<li>Undertake any other professional, reasonable duties delegated by the Headteacher.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The Deputy Headteacher is expected to manage and lead the school and carry out delegated duties as requested by the Headteacher and School Governors.</p>\n<p>The Deputy Headteacher post is non-residential.</p>\n<p><strong>PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>To work closely with other members of the Leadership Team in providing strategic leadership and management and ensuring effectiveness of whole school organisation.</li>\n<li>To provide curriculum leadership for the teaching team in relation to teachers’ responsibilities as curriculum co-ordinators ensuring that arrangements for the curriculum management, including assessment, recording and reporting, are planned and implemented effectively.</li>\n<li>Ensure that all pupils make the best possible progress in all areas of the school curriculum, including the National Curriculum and within the school’s residential provision, as appropriate to their personal, social and emotional development.</li>\n<li>To provide a systematic and effective system to support, promote, monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching performance and pupils’ learning and attainment.</li>\n<ul>\n<li>This will include contributing to the performance management reviews for teachers and staff appraisals.</li>\n</ul>\n<li>To provide professional development, leadership and management to all staff, ensuring that a relevant programme of professional development activities is facilitated.</li>\n<li>To fulfil the role of special education needs and disabilities co-ordinator [SENDCO] ensuring that the school’s Special Educational Needs [SEN] Policy is implemented and regularly reviewed with regard to its effectiveness.</li>\n<li>Lead and manage the effective transition of pupils to the next stage of their education.
