Horsham District Council is looking for Estate Surveyor (Commercial)&nbsp;to assist in managing our varied portfolio of industrial, commercial, retail, and operational properties. This will involve property management activities such as property inspections, determining repair and improvement work and preparing budget reports as well as estate management work, assisting with rental reviews, lease renewals, rating and letting.
As Estate Surveyor (Commercial)&nbsp;you will provide professional support to a team of experienced Surveyors and be allocated industrial and retail estates to manage. You will be responsible for setting up and coordinating leases with tenants, organising maintenance contractors and developing the property service charge budget and reconciliation. In addition, you will seek to incorporate carbon neutral initiatives.
Other responsibilities include carrying out support tasks for the team including lease plan creation, answering title ownership queries, organising licences, assisting in legal documentation and negotiation, contract administration and collating information for rating or valuation surveyors.
About you:
To succeed as Estate Surveyor (Commercial), you will have at least 5 years property management experience (preferably in commercial property). You will have a willingness to learn and undertake professional development to develop a broad range of skills with the requirements of the service. Good IT, communication skills and effective work planning are essential.&nbsp;&nbsp;You need to work under your own initiative but operate as part of a team and be able to follow instructions accurately and effectively. This role requires travelling around the District, therefore a full UK driving licence is required. Services available include: individual assessments, prescribing to support recovery, psychology and counselling services, recovery groups, community and inpatient detox, rehabilitations services as well as abstinence based treatment and aftercare services. In addition to this the Substance Misuse Social Work Team undertake Care Act assessments for HMP Brixton and social work within the Homeless Hostels.&nbsp; The Practitioner Manager is responsible for managing the daytime social care service alongside the team manager, ensuring that a quality, responsive, safe, and person-centred service to support which promotes the well-being of Lambeth residents is delivered.&nbsp; The role also includes leading on specialist areas across the other services and managing some service areas jointly with the other PMs.&nbsp; The PM will supervise up to 8 social care staff in the team. The PM will ensure that statutory assessments are assigned and completed in a timely manner within expected performance targets and quality standards. This will include supporting social workers through managing their cases, and complex cases, the court of protection, safeguarding procedures, and authorising assessments with a view to supporting them to produce high quality, strength-based work. With support from the Team Manager, the PM may also be elected to take the lead on service development areas arising from service user requests and member’s enquiries from time to time.&nbsp; The PM will support social care staff with their professional development through regular 1:1 and appraisals. The role requires that you are a qualified social worker with significant post qualifying experience, have excellent organisational and communication skills.
