As well as delivering an emergency service we also deliver a range of prevention and protection activities aimed at reducing fires and other incidents, including the enforcement of Fire Safety legislation. Have you got what it takes?</p><p>The On-Call element of Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service is fundamental to our emergency cover across the county. On-Call firefighters are a group of community spirited men and women who are ‘on-call’ to respond when their pager bleeps, having been called into action by our Fire Control Centre where 999 calls are handled. Many of our On-Call firefighters have other jobs and provide important fire service cover during weekdays, evenings and weekends.
