We are looking for a dedicated Private Sector Options Officer to join our team. In this vital role, you will support the Private Sector Options Manager in effectively managing the lifecycle of tenancies, ensuring a person-centred, preventative approach. About the role:
Tenancy Management &amp; Homelessness Prevention: Effectively manage the lifecycle of a tenancy, ensuring a person-centred, preventative approach. This will include mediation with private landlords and tenants, identifying breaches, and taking enforcement and legal action where required. Work with households and in partnership with other agencies, landlords, private and public sector services to identify those at risk of homelessness early and find innovative lasting solutions to prevent homelessness and meet housing need.
Property Portfolio Management: Day-to-day accountability for the management of Opening Doors and Private Sector Leased tenancies across the property portfolio, including arrears recovery, ASB management, and letting void properties. Landlord Engagement: Engage with and establish strong partnerships with private sector landlords and their agents to support them in achieving high standards of customer care and meeting their statutory obligations. Develop positive relationships with private sector landlords to provide specialist one-to-one support and advice.
Financial &amp; Housing Solutions: Analyse income and expenditure data and complete thorough financial assessments of clients' circumstances to establish available options to access private rented sector accommodation. Support households in temporary accommodation to find suitable permanent housing by developing creative solutions

The Temporary Accommodation team are looking for a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced reactive role, has customer service at the heart of what they do and a “can do” attitude!
You will be required to work as part of the Temporary Accommodation team to provide day to day housing management of the Council’s temporary accommodation for homeless households. You will also be required to provide low level support to ensure residents are tenancy ready to access move on / independent living opportunities.
The Temporary Accommodation team are based in offices just outside the vibrant city centre of Winchester. You will need to meet the travel requirements of the role as you will visit residents in our units of temporary accommodation across the district, as well as conducting health and safety visits at our schemes.

This is a vital role focused on preventing homelessness by ensuring that public bodies effectively refer individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless to the appropriate local housing authority. You will be at the forefront of our efforts to provide timely support to some of the most vulnerable members of our community, maintaining current partnerships and developing new ones.
About the role:
You will be the primary point of contact for public bodies in fulfilling their duty to refer for individuals at risk of homelessness, receiving and processing referrals from a range of public authorities, including social services, healthcare providers, and the justice system.
As part of the role you will conduct initial assessments to determine the urgency and nature of the housing need, ensure that all referrals are made to the correct local authority, as chosen by the service user.
You will lead liaison with public bodies on the duty to refer processes, provide guidance and establish pathways for individuals who may be at risk of homelessness.

It’s an exciting time to join the Community Wellbeing team within Spelthorne. We developed and built temporary accommodation for families, and purpose built supported accommodation for single homeless residents and continue to look for opportunities for permanent and temporary housing solutions. We have just launched our ambitious Homelessness &amp; Rough Sleeping Strategy 2025-2030 which aims to end the use of bed and breakfast accommodation, promote independence and wellbeing, and maximise the use of the private rented sector for homelessness prevention and relief. We are working closely with partners to deliver innovative and appropriate options to facilitate discharge from hospital and prevent admissions.
In addition to all this, the Council is embarking on an ambitious housing delivery programme to meet the housing needs of local residents, including a significant proportion of affordable homes.
To support this work, we are looking for a new Strategic Lead for Housing. A large part of the role is to proactively engage with internal colleagues and external partners to enable affordable housing delivery. You will develop and lead the Council’s effective partnerships with Registered Providers and Homes England, as well as representing the housing service on internal development working groups in order to achieve this.
Together with your solid understanding of the economic and social issues that affect housing supply and demand locally, you will have a proven track record and significant experience in strategy policy and preparation. You will be an expert in housing and homelessness legislation as you will need to translate guidance, best practice, and case law into understandable and workable solutions.
You will be comfortable working with numbers and data in spreadsheets and databases and be able to translate the same into plain English for a variety of audiences. You will be able to use this data to not only drive business cases and funding bids, which will see new services commissioned in line with the Council’s strategic aims, but also to contract manage existing services. To do this effectively, you will need excellent ICT skills.
You will lead a small but effective team which you will be expected to coach and support. You will also support the Team Manager, Housing Options to ensure the Council’s statutory homelessness service is run according to legislation, statutory guidance, case law and best practice.
