As Deputy Chief Accountant Business Partner, you will play a central role in ensuring the financial integrity and transparency of Brent Council’s statutory reporting. Reporting to the Chief Accountant, you will lead the preparation and delivery of the Council’s Statement of Accounts and other financial reporting, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. You will also oversee VAT reporting and contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures that support robust financial governance.
This is a high-impact role that requires strong technical expertise and the ability to manage complex financial processes across the entire organisation. You will lead a small, high-performing team—including Finance Analysts and graduate trainees—providing mentorship and fostering professional development. You will also act as a key liaison with internal and external auditors, HMRC, and other stakeholders, ensuring the Council’s financial reporting is accurate, timely, and audit-ready.
As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction and safeguarding the financial integrity of the Brent Pension Fund, which supports more than 22,000 current and former local government employees. Working closely with the Head of Finance and leading a small, dedicated team, you will provide professional financial advice on all aspects of the Pension Fund. You will take the lead on preparing and delivering the Fund’s statutory accounts and annual report, support the development and monitoring of the investment strategy, and contribute to long-term financial planning and risk management. You will also act as a key liaison with external auditors, actuaries, and investment fund managers, and will be responsible for drafting and presenting reports to the Pension Fund Sub-Committee and Local Pension Board.
The Senior Finance Analysts will report into the relevant Head of Finance. They will provide officers and senior stakeholders with high level professional advice and make a positive contribution to the delivery of the service. Key activities will include:

You’ll be supporting learners working towards qualifications from Level 1 to Level 3, including Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths in classroom, practical and workshop settings. In your role in delivering targeted out of class interventions, you will support these learners through their studies, providing welfare and personal case assistance (if required). You will work as part of a proactive and dedicated team to ensure the best outcomes for our students.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to adapt their approach effectively to suit different stakeholders and needs of students, you will be empathetic, adaptable, proactive and committed to inclusive education with the ability to think creatively to provide different resolutions that arise within your role. As part of our OUTSTANDING Children’s Service, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for child looked after and care leavers.

About the Role:&nbsp;In this role, you will chair&nbsp;Care Leavers transition reviews, which take place following their 18th&nbsp;Birthday, and&nbsp;Children Looked Ater Reviews&nbsp;making sure children’s plans are being progressed. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that the right decisions are made at the right time, and that children and families are included in developing their plans. You will:

Chair Care Leaver Transition Reviews and Children Looked After Reviews&nbsp;in person, review their care plan, and ensure their needs are being met. On occasion you will need to chair child protection conferences and child in need reviews.</li>
<li>Provide&nbsp;professional consultation, support, and challenge&nbsp;to social work practitioners and managers about children looked after &nbsp;/ care leavers, ensuring their needs are being met.</li>
<li>
Develop SMART plans&nbsp;with children, parents, and carers that are focused on positive, measurable outcomes.</li>
<li>Monitor progress on plans and identify barriers to the implementation of children’s plans within the wider multi-agency system.</li>

What We’re Looking For:&nbsp;We are seeking a highly skilled&nbsp;Social Worker&nbsp;who:

<li>Have&nbsp;managerial experience supervising staff and front-line safeguarding experience.</li>
<li>Are&nbsp;registered with Social Work England.</li>
<li>Possesses a&nbsp;strong understanding of The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010, child protection legislation, family court processes, and children’s rights.</li>
<li>Are adept at&nbsp;chairing multi-agency meetings, ensuring children’s participation and parents are engaged, and resolving differences.</li>
<li>Have&nbsp;outstanding communication and written skills.</li>

Job Title:&nbsp;Night Support Worker
Location:&nbsp;Ilford, Redbridge. Unfortunately this service does not have step free access&nbsp;
Salary:&nbsp;£27,000
Shift Pattern:&nbsp;37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rolling rota on 11.5 hour shifts which include working 20:30 - 08:30. You will also be at times, required to work during the day for meetings, training, and other required activities.&nbsp;
About the role
We’re looking for a Night Support Worker to support within the Offender Personality Disorder Housing Accommodation to provide support in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our residents and participants back into the community. Our residents are referred to us by the criminal justice system, and they are deemed as high risk, and likely to meet the criteria for a personality disorder. You will be part of the team to provide intensive support to overcome their barriers to resettlement and progress towards independent living.&nbsp;
You will:
<ul>
<li>Work to ensure safety and wellbeing of our residents.</li>
<li>Support mainly the night shifts to ensure the service runs smoothly at night, being a point of contact for residents, engaging with them to ensure their safety comes first, and running various evening activities for engagement.</li>
<li>Build trusting and professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through one to one sessions, group sessions, and general wellbeing check ins.</li>
<li>During quieter hours, you will be responsible for ensuring administration is up to date, the service is kept clean and tidy, and will support with additional ad hoc tasks.</li>
</ul>
About you
We're looking for someone who has a true passion for what we do as an organisation, particularly in supporting those who have personality disorder and have been within the criminal justice service.&nbsp;
Our residents needs are at the forefront of service delivery, so someone who can build trusting professional relationships is key. You will be adaptable, proactive, and able to use your initiative to resolve challenges, and keep the night service running smoothly. You will be able to work within a team, and have previous knowledge of the needs our residents may have. Each support plan is tailored to the individual, putting their needs first for the team to be able to deliver support to their needs. What are we looking for:

<li>Understanding of the needs of those who have a personality disorder</li>
<li>Understanding of the criminal justice system</li>
<li>Ability to use IT systems to record case notes, email relevant people, and use other software required within the role</li>

This role is essential to the functioning of the organisation.
To be successful, you will need previous experience working on an ICT Service Desk, supporting Microsoft Office suites and Operating Systems.&nbsp; You will also demonstrate excellent customer service and written / verbal communication skills.
