We are looking for a team member who has a degree in Building Surveying or equivalent construction discipline and has corporate full membership of either MRICS, MCABE or MCIOB and must be registered at either Class 2 or 3 with the Building Safety Regulator .
You must be self-motivated, be able to work on own initiative and have broad experience in Building Control legislation and enforcement processes. You must have proven excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We are seeking a Control Operator to work in our busy Lifeline office. Lifeline is a support service for the elderly and vulnerable tenants and residents of Charnwood Borough Council. Controllers are alerted to customers’ needs by the activation of a pendant or pullcord which sends an alert to the Lifeline monitoring center. The controller is required to ask questions to assess the nature of the emergency and decide on the action to be taken.
Action could involve calling the appropriate emergency services, talking to the appropriate medical professionals, or contacting family or carers.
Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
This service is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service, 365 days a year. You will work an average of 24 hours per week, the role is shift work and includes a night, an evening, afternoon, and a morning shift. This includes weekends and bank holidays as per the rota. Some shifts will require lone working. Out of hours you will be responding to calls for emergency repair requests from tenants living in the borough.
The successful candidate must be able to deal calmly and confidently with a variety of situations and always remain polite and courteous. You must have the ability to work using your own initiative.
You must be a confident, clear communicator and able to respond in a manner which ensures trust in the service we are providing.
Candidates should have a knowledge and understanding of handling sensitive personal information in line with Data Protection.

The role is based in Hemel Hempstead with some travel to locations in St Albans.St Barnabas provides supported living homes for people with learning disabilities. We have 8 supported living homes for people with 24-hour support on site provided. We’re looking for an experienced, CIPD-qualified HR professional to join our small, supportive team as a Senior HR Advisor. Based at Muriel Matters House, you’ll provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers and services across the council, helping us deliver fair, inclusive and effective people management.
This is a varied and rewarding role covering all areas of HR, including employee relations casework, absence management, job evaluation, organisational change, and TUPE. You'll partner closely with service areas, supporting them to apply employment law, best practice and council policies confidently and consistently.
Your responsibilities will include:

<li>Advising on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and performance cases</li>
<li>Supporting and delivering restructures, TUPE transfers and other organisational change projects</li>
<li>Coaching and guiding managers to strengthen HR knowledge and capability</li>
<li>Supporting on sickness absence management, job design, and evaluation processes</li>
<li>Working collaboratively with trade unions and supporting policy development</li>
<li>Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in all HR practices</li>

What we’re looking for:

<li>CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience) and evidence of ongoing professional development</li>

<li>Strong knowledge of UK employment law, job evaluation and HR best practice</li>
<li>Confident communicator who can explain complex issues clearly and practically</li>
