    About us
At Camden, we're building somewhere everyone can thrive. We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to achieve their ambitions, regardless of their background or circumstances. We're committed to delivering outstanding services that help children and young people feel safe, supported and empowered to lead independent, fulfilling lives.

As a Personal Adviser within our Care Experienced Service, you'll play a vital role in helping young people successfully transition from care into adulthood, ensuring they have the support, guidance and opportunities they need to thrive.

    The Role
We're looking for a passionate and committed Personal Adviser to join our Care Experienced Service, supporting young people aged 16 to 25 as they prepare for and move into independent adulthood.

You'll manage a caseload of approximately 21–24 care experienced young people, building positive, trusting relationships that place their aspirations at the centre of everything you do. Working alongside Social Workers while young people remain looked after, you'll take lead responsibility for supporting them once they leave care, helping them develop the practical and emotional skills needed for independence.

You'll regularly visit young people in their homes, review and develop Pathway Plans, coordinate support from partner agencies and advocate for young people to access housing, education, employment, training, health services and Camden's Local Offer. You'll also attend professional meetings, maintain accurate case records and work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to ensure young people receive the right support at the right time.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference by helping care experienced young people build confidence, develop resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

    About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of care experienced young people and understands the importance of building meaningful, trusting relationships.

You'll have experience supporting young people aged 16–25, particularly in developing independence, sustaining accommodation and preparing for adulthood. You'll have a good understanding of the legislation relating to looked after children, leaving care services and safeguarding, together with experience of completing assessments and developing high-quality Pathway Plans.

    You'll also bring:

    • Experience supporting care experienced or vulnerable young people to achieve positive outcomes.
    • Knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000, Children and Social Work Act 2017 and relevant safeguarding legislation.
    • An understanding of the challenges faced by care experienced young people, including barriers relating to housing, education, employment, health and wellbeing.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with young people, families and partner agencies.
    • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage your own workload, maintain accurate records and work independently when required.
    • A commitment to promoting high aspirations, equality and inclusion, helping every young person realise their potential.

If you're motivated by making a genuine difference and want to support care experienced young people to build successful, independent futures, we'd love to hear from you.
