About You
The Industry Skills Tutor will manage a caseload of apprentices by monitoring attendance, progression, achievement and completion, organising pastoral support as required and by working with all parties involved to resolve any issues that may affect successful completion of the programmes. We are looking for a candidate with experience within Carpentry industry. The Industry Skills Tutor will coordinate achievement of all aspects of apprenticeship standards or frameworks, to include quality assurance where appropriate, ensuring learners achieve on time, and in-line with college targets. The successful applicants will develop individual action plans including the setting of smart targets tailored to meet apprentices’ needs while maintaining accurate records in line with the College requirements.
The Industry Skills Tutor will;
<ul>
<li>Hold a relevant vocational qualification at or above level 3 and hold an Assessor award and IQA award</li>
<li>Have relevant up-to-date industrial/subject knowledge and a knowledge of the Carpentry industry and employment opportunities</li>
<li>Have a knowledge of Ofsted and apprenticeship and AEB funding</li>
<li>Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written</li>
<li>Have excellent organisational and administrative skills and be able to manage and organise priorities, working as part of a team to ensure quality of provision and timely and overall successful outcomes.</li>
<li>Commitment to and enthusiasm for delivering an excellent customer service demonstrating problem-solving attributes for apprentices, employers and other key stakeholders</li>

The nature of this post means that the post holder will need to travel to all the College campuses and to other external venues.

Be proactive in ensuring that customers remain engaged with required support.</li><li> Where appropriate (usually where no family/agency support available) act as an advocate for vulnerable tenants with statutory, voluntary and commercial agencies.</li><li> Contribute to the development of a comprehensive network of positive contacts and collaboration with relevant agencies, including health, employment, training, support and voluntary agencies.</li><li> Where appropriate arrange and facilitate multi-agency meetings with partner agencies to address tenancy sustainment issues.</li><li> Take action in accordance with policy and procedure in all safeguarding situations. </li><li> Work collaboratively with Neighbourhood Housing Managers (NHM’s) to provide support to tenants to address hoarding issues; to include liaison with Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) and other relevant agencies. As a guideline NHM’s to lead on tenancy, property and safety issues, TSO to address root causes leading to hoarding behaviour. </li><li> Review tenancies at point of notice where concerns about tenancy sustainment remain, to establish if any further interventions are required. </li><li> Maintain accurate records in relation to customers’ vulnerability and support requirements, ensuring effective communication internally and with external partners.
