Employment Advisor
Rushmoor Borough Council is looking for a highly professional and enthusiastic person to work in our new Young Adult’s Employment Hub.
You will work as part of the Economic Development Team, supporting young people into work and/or training.
You will be responsible for supporting young people between the ages of 16 and 24 into work, education, or training.
This will involve 1-2-1 appointments with the young people, delivering employability workshops, giving careers advice and guidance, working with local partners to provide further support, and signposting to other relevant organisations where appropriate.
This is a funded role, so regular reporting will be required. If successful, we hope to continue operating the Hub beyond the first year. Your role will be key to making that happen.
This role is based at the Council Offices and will require you to be on site for the majority of your working hours.
Please note one Employment Advisor will have more reporting and organisational duties, hence the uplift in salary.
We need someone organised and highly professional, ideally with some experience of working with young people and knowledge of the current employment and skills landscape.
We are looking for someone with the skills to engage with young people who face significant barriers to employment. This could be for a variety of reasons, so the most important factor in hiring for this role will be your ability interact with people and help them overcome the challenges they face.
For further information, or an informal chat about the role, please contact Jennifer Upstill, Employment and Skills Officer on 07341 522109
