Education, Employment and Training (EET) Researcher

Education, Employment and Training (EET) Researcher

Youth Work
£32,061 - £35,412 per year

All about the Role

Do you have a passion for helping young people achieve their potential? Are you highly organised, data-driven and skilled at building positive relationships? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

Our Education, Employment and Training (EET) Service works with young people aged 16–20 (and up to 25 for those with additional needs) to ensure they are engaged in education, employment or training and receive the support they need to succeed. We're looking for an Education, Employment and Training Researcher to join our growing and ambitious team. The role combines data intelligence, partnership working and direct engagement with young people, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys both analytical and people-focused work.

This is a varied role that combines data analysis, investigation and direct engagement with young people, schools, colleges and training providers. You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate participation records, identifying young people who may need support, and gathering information that helps the Council meet its statutory duties.

You'll spend time analysing data, managing information systems, contacting young people and working with partners to improve the quality of information we hold. Your work will help decision-makers understand local trends and ensure young people can access education, employment and training opportunities.

If you enjoy solving problems, working with data and engaging with a wide range of people, this role offers an opportunity to make a measurable difference across the city.

Please note should we receive a high volume of suitable applicants, this role may close before the scheduled advert closing date

Interviews will be held on 14th August

Please note the salary advertised is the FTE the actual salary will be pro rata

All about our Team

The EET Service is a passionate, supportive and innovative team committed to improving life chances for young people across Peterborough.

We work with schools, colleges, training providers, employers, social care teams, health services and community organisations to ensure every young person has access to the support and opportunities they need. We combine effective data intelligence with practical youth-focused interventions, helping young people overcome barriers and progress into positive destinations.

Our culture is built on collaboration, continuous improvement and a genuine commitment to making a difference. We celebrate success, support one another and constantly seek new ways to improve services for young people and families. Whether we're delivering statutory tracking responsibilities, developing new initiatives or influencing strategic priorities, our focus remains the same: helping young people thrive.

All about You

We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, organised and motivated by making a positive impact.

You'll be someone who can combine attention to detail with strong communication skills.

You will be confident working with data, investigating issues and using information to make informed decisions. You'll be organised, able to manage competing priorities and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience of maintaining accurate records, using databases or management information systems, and working in customer-facing environments. Experience of working with young people, education providers or advice and guidance services would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Most importantly, you'll have the determination to find solutions, the resilience to manage challenges and the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders.
