About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents

About the role

We’re looking for a proactive, highly organised Project Management Support Officer to help drive meaningful Service Improvement across Adult Social Care.

At the heart of our Programme Management Office (PMO), you’ll be a central part of the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of complex programmes and projects. You’ll bring structure, clarity, and momentum—coordinating activity, strengthening governance, and producing insightful reporting that enables confident decision-making.

Working alongside programme leads, project managers and senior stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in keeping delivery on track—making sure milestones are met, risks are managed, and progress is visible. If you enjoy turning complexity into clarity and want your work to make a real difference, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of impactful change.

Day-to-day, you will;

Act as the central coordination point across multiple projects, maintaining accurate plans, tracking progress and managing dependencies

Support programme boards and governance forums—preparing papers, tracking actions, and ensuring decisions are effectively implemented

Produce clear, timely reports that highlight performance, risks, issues and opportunities

Provide analysis and constructive challenge to support strong decision-making and delivery discipline

Drive consistency across programme management processes, tools and standards

Build strong relationships with stakeholders across services and partner organisations

You’ll also play a key role in continuous improvement—helping to strengthen PMO practices, embed good programme management, and promote a culture of transparency, accountability and learning.

About the team

The Service Development and Improvement team plays a central role in supporting the successful delivery of Adult Social Care’s complex improvement programme. Working alongside programme leads and operational services, the team provides coordination, analysis and project management to ensure our vital improvement projects are effectively planned, monitored and delivered.

The team brings together data, insight and stakeholder input to inform decision-making, track progress against key milestones, and drive continuous improvement. By maintaining strong governance, supporting programme reporting and working collaboratively across teams and partner organisations, the team helps ensure that improvement activity is well-managed, evidence-based and focused on achieving better outcomes for residents.

About you

You’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing energy, organisation and a real drive to deliver high-quality outcomes. You take pride in getting the detail right, but you never lose sight of the bigger picture—always looking for smarter, more effective ways to get things done.

You’re naturally proactive and solutions-focused, able to spot challenges early and take ownership of moving things forward. Whether working independently or as part of a collaborative team, you bring a positive, can-do approach and build strong relationships with those around you.

You stay calm and focused under pressure, adapting quickly when priorities shift and keeping delivery on track. At the same time, you’re always looking to grow—committed to learning, improving, and developing your skills.

Experience or understanding of Adult Social Care or the public sector is a bonus—but what really matters is your curiosity, your willingness to get stuck in, and your ambition to make a meaningful difference.

You bring:

  • Experience working in a project, programme or PMO environment, with a good understanding of project management principles.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with confidence handling data, identifying risks and providing insights.
  • The ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 tools (including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project) and working with data and reporting systems.
