Reporting to the Reuse Manager this new role will play a key part in establishing and optimising operational processes within a new distribution and reuse pilot at our Northampton site ensuring that processes are efficient.
Key responsibilities include:

We are currently looking to recruit an Assessment &amp; Review Worker into the CHC and DOLS Team. The team’s base is Forster House and consists of Social Workers, Best Interest Assessors, Assessment and Review Workers and a supportive admin team.
 
The role of the Assessment and Review Worker is to arrange and manage reviews for individuals who receive support provided by the Local Authority and ICB. This will include individuals supported within a variety of settings including in their own home, in residential or nursing care, within sheltered accommodation and supported living settings. The reviews will ensure the support provided continue to meet the individuals care needs as defined under the Care Act 2014. Other tasks/responsibilities required within this role would be to assist the team by carrying out a Duty Role according to the needs of the team and to undertake joint visits with other team members where necessary.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to gain and develop experience. The team is a supportive team and the Assessment and Review Worker will work alongside Social Workers and Managers. In addition there will be an opportunity to work closely with colleagues from the ICB. A good induction and monthly supervision will be provided as well as ongoing peer support.

The team has a flexible working arrangement, which means you will be required to divide your working week between home and the designated office.

We want a SEND Development Officer, who is a self-starter with a keen eye for detail, is approachable, has a commonsense approach to work and enjoys supporting colleagues in a busy team. About you…. 
To be successful in the role of SEND Development Officer you will have:

<li>Excellent communication skills and enjoy working with a team passionate about supporting children with SEND</li>
<li>A proven track record as an exceptional administrator with good attention to detail</li>
<li>Experience working with the public</li>
<li>Able to provide excellent customer service</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft 365 packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint</li>
<li>willing to learn new skills.</li>

About the role…
As the SEND Development Officer your duties will include:

<li>Providing critical business and operational support to meet the needs of our statutory duties in SEND.</li>
<li>Playing a key part in the operation of our SEND panel in Rutland</li>
<li>Working closely with schools to coordinate appropriate paperwork for our decision making process.</li>
<li>Supporting annual review processes for children in Rutland</li>
<li>Processing and delivering high quality reports for our performance monitoring requirements</li>
</ul>
The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.
The SEND Development Officer interviews will be held on 14th July 2025 face to face at Rutland County Council offices.&nbsp; Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
