From managing elected officials' diaries and supporting the Council’s governance process to administering the ward budget programme, you’ll respond to all sorts of important challenges as you enable our key decision-makers to perform their roles smoothly and effectively. This vital work will help to deliver our Fairer Westminster strategy and support Cabinet Members as they make the decisions that affect the lives of people and communities in Westminster.<br><br>Working closely with politicians, your day-to-day tasks will be varied and could include arranging a complex cross-Council meeting with various stakeholders, commissioning a briefing note for a Cabinet Member on a pressing strategic priority, or supporting applicants through the ward budget application process. You’ll also take a lead role in supporting a broad portfolio of casework, working with everyone in the council from junior officers to our most senior stakeholders. London Weighting Allowance","publishDate":"2025-05-22T12:45:00.000Z","expirationDate":"2025-06-12T22:59:00.000Z","logoUri":"https://www.jobsgopublic.com/logos/logos/5d4952fc-4068-4787-aa30-2561e13827c9.png","score":1,"featured":false,"enhanced":false},{"id":"f272d29b-6145-441f-968f-68b83d8a9558","title":"Advisory Teacher - CYP with SEND","employer":"London Borough of Barking & Dagenham","department":"","location":"Barking & Dagenham","locationType":2,"description":"<p><strong>About this job</strong></p>\n<p>This role is to promote the educational attainment and progress and have the highest expectations for our students.</p>\n<p>The role includes, but isn't restricted to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitoring attendance and attainment for identified cohort.</li>\n<li>Supporting social workers with school applications where necessary</li>\n<li>Attending individual PEP meetings for identified cohort to ensure clear smart targets are set and that there is effective use of pupil premium plus funding</li>\n<li>Attending additional professional meetings where time allows including annual reviews and child in care meetings</li>\n<li>Discussing issues with a young person that are impacting on their engagement with school and education</li>\n<li>Liaising with schools regarding their current cohort of children in care and monitoring overall provision and support;</li>\n<li>Attending re-integration meetings in support of the child in care, the social worker and the foster carer;</li>\n<li>Liaising with external educational providers eg tuition agencies to provide education when a school placement breaks down;</li>\n<li>Working with SEN colleagues to ensure provision is appropriate for looked after children placed in independent schools or in education provision provided by the residential care placement;</li>\n<li>Responding to individual enquiries from schools, admissions teams, social workers, and foster carers about identified cohort.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Special requirements for this post</strong></p>\n<p>You will need to have qualified teacher status</p>\n<p><strong>About you</strong></p>\n<p>As a member of the Virtual School team, you will champion our young people with SEND and ensure that they are given the educational support they need to thrive. You will monitor their attendance, attainment and exclusions, providing advice and support to schools and social workers.</p>\n<p>You will be a tenacious practitioner with good communication skills and the ability to build strong partnerships within the Local Authority and beyond.</p>\n<p><strong>About us</strong></p>\n<p>Our vision for our Council is ‘No-one left behind’, something the Virtual School embraces wholeheartedly.
