Accommodation Support & Wellbeing Officer

Role 1 - 18 hour permanent

Role 2 - 36 hour fixed term for 12 months

About the Role:

This post is within the Housing Options Team working in a fast-paced responsive team.

The core duties are to facilitate access to emergency temporary homeless accommodation for those households who present as homeless to the Council, providing support and assistance to improve their health and wellbeing, whilst accommodated, along with providing practical advice and support to assist to secure permanent housing.

An experienced and self-motivated Officer is required to provide support to households who are living within emergency accommodation to assist them to maintain the accommodation and move to more permanent accommodation.

About the candidate:

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of homeless legislation (Part VII of the Housing Act 1996/2002 and the Homeless Reduction Act 2018) and experience of working in a supported housing or health related organisation.

Experience of creating, monitoring and progressing support plans would be beneficial.

You must be able to work with applicants in a sensitive manner, accurately record statements and findings and signpost to other agencies.

Ideally you should have experience of using the LOCATA HPA2 system however training will be given.
