The Person:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety and Environmental Manager to lead the strategic and operational delivery of compliance across our Landlord Services. This is a pivotal role ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and environmental integrity of our housing stock, staff, and tenants.
You will oversee statutory compliance, risk management, and environmental sustainability across housing operations—including water safety, fire risk, asbestos, disrepair, voids, and emerging legislation such as Awaab’s Law. Working closely with senior leaders and technical teams, you will embed a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

<li>Lead the development and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, and audits across landlord services.</li>
<li>Ensure full compliance with statutory duties including COSHH, RIDDOR, CDM, and housing-specific regulations.</li>
<li>Oversee environmental risk management including water hygiene, asbestos, damp and mould, and energy efficiency.</li>
<li>Support operational teams with training, guidance, and technical expertise.</li>
<li>Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management, boards, and regulators.</li>
<li>Lead investigations, incident reviews, and corrective action planning.</li>
<li>Champion tenant safety and engagement through clear communication and partnership working.</li>

<li>To collaborate with colleagues within the Early Years Inclusion Team to guide and support early years practitioners/teachers around early identification and the implementation of the graduated approach.</li>
</ul>
The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.
Please note: the hours are set at 37 per week, though we are willing to offer two part-time positions of 22.5 and 14.5 hours respectively, depending on suitable applicants.
