<h2>Principal Accountabilities</h2>



<ul>
<li>Be accountable for delivering the Mayor and Deputy Mayor’s objectives around violence reduction and make a tangible impact to the communities of South Yorkshire.&nbsp; Delivery of an operating model for the South Yorkshire VRU which takes a public health approach and brings together existing structures to maximise collaboration and place-based working.</li>
<li>Working with communities to understand the drivers of violence, vulnerability and exploitation and formulating approaches to prevention and reduction that deliver sustained outcomes.</li>
<li>Lead the VRU Team to design, develop and implement a multi-year strategy which supports delivery of prevention and violence reduction activities across South Yorkshire.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Responsibility for managing funds and commissioning services to prevent violence. Evaluation of these activities, including reporting to local and national bodies, will be an important element of ensuring we are best meeting need.</li>
<li>Develop the best policy advice and guidance, based on the latest evidence and research,&nbsp; ensuring wider local, national and international trends are adopted and/or shaped as appropriate.</li>
<li>Maintain and influence a network of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with wider community safety work across the county.</li>

<h2>About the role</h2>



The Senior Democratic Services Officer will play a vital role in deputising for the Democratic Services &amp; Scrutiny Manager, supervising the day-to-day operations of the team and supporting the team of Democratic Services Officers.&nbsp;

You will be a champion of transparency and openness, ensuring SYMCA meets and exceeds all the requirements in national legislation, local policies and SYMCA procedures.

<br><strong>Your work will involve:&nbsp;</strong>

<p><strong>About the role</strong></p>
<p>The purpose of the direct marketing executive role is to support the charity’s prize-led fundraising activity, which currently consists of two products – the Breast Cancer Now raffle and the Pink Ribbon Lottery. Working closely with the direct marketing officers, you’ll assist in delivering a wide-range of campaigns across multiple channels (direct mail, email, telemarketing, digital and face-to-face marketing), which recruit and retain supporters to these products. You’ll provide vital administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the team and the lottery.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The role is dynamic and no two days are the same. Tasks might include proofreading campaign materials, processing invoices, tracking campaign performance, contributing ideas for upcoming initiatives, briefing internal teams, contacting lottery winners, resolving queries, shadowing face-to-face fundraisers, or crafting copy for email campaigns.</p>
<p>With combined individual giving income growing strongly at over £21 million per annum, this is the perfect time to join an experienced and effective individual giving team. You’ll be part of an overall directorate that won the 2024 Charity Times Award for fundraising team of the year.</p>

You will lead on delivery of contract and performance management for a number of learning organisations delivering Adult Skills, Free Courses for Jobs and Skills Bootcamps. This new role will generate insight from social research and provide expert advice to senior leaders, focusing on Mayoral priorities and embedding our principles in everything we do. You’ll scope and deliver research projects that put people at the heart of decision-making, identifying and reporting on social trends that matter to South Yorkshire.<br><br>

<li>Education to degree level, with relevant training in social research.</li>
<li>Proven experience applying qualitative research methods and conducting qualitative analysis.</li>

<li>In-depth knowledge of legal and ethical aspects of data collection and disclosure control.</li>
<li>Experience managing multiple research projects from scoping to dissemination.</li>

<p>Reporting to the Principal Officer - Investment, this is a key role in the successful management of the Housing Stock data of over 5700 properties.&nbsp; You will be responsible for the surveying, collation and management of the stock data as well as the analysis of the data to assist in the planning and implementation of the capital works programmes.</p>
<p>The role requires a detailed knowledge of building construction methods and materials backed up with a formal qualification, the ability to identify and diagnose defects and arrive at appropriate solutions as well as experience of undertaking stock condition surveys.</p>
<p>You must also be able to work with stock data and systems, managing data and assisting in the creation of programmes for future capital works programmes to ensure continued compliance with DHS and other statutory requirements.</p>
<p>This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the Asset Team which focuses in delivering panned works programmes ensuring an excellent service to our customers.</p>

<li>Collation analysis and effective use of stock condition information from a range of surveys on all property assets including occupied dwellings, void dwellings, commercial buildings, garages, communal areas and public spaces.</li>
<li>Carrying out stock condition and related surveys - including Housing Health &amp; Safety Rating System (HHSRS) surveys.</li>
<li>Contribution to the development of comprehensive and accurate stock condition information to support short, and long-term asset management planning.</li>
<li>Ensuring results of surveys are accurately recorded in the asset management system, in a timely manner, using hand-held data capture equipment.</li>
<li>Effective organisational, planning and report writing skills.</li>
<li>Full and clean driving licence with access to a vehicle to undertake site visits.</li>
<li>Delivery of an effective and appropriate service to all service users, fairly and without discrimination.</li>

<p><strong>What you’ll be doing:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Identify strategies to help overcome individual pupils’ barriers to learning</li>
<li>Be prepared to use humour and restorative practice to ensure a child-centred approach</li>
<li>Support the transition of new pupils arriving or existing pupils returning to school, putting the necessary support in place to overcome any barriers to learning</li>
<li>Provide in class support as necessary to meet the needs of the school.</li>
<li>Liaise with other staff to monitoring pupils’ behaviour and well being</li>
<li>Build positive relations with parents/carers to encourage family involvement in their child’s progress</li>
<li>Communicate with parents/carers about specific support in place for their child.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A minimum of 3 months experience working in an education setting, working with students with Special Educational Needs – especially Autism (ASD), Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and dyslexia/dyspraxia</li>
<li>The ability to tailor your skills to meet the needs of each individual child</li>
<li>Someone who is kind, caring and patient when dealing with children who require specialist support</li>

<p>Our school supports children aged from 9 to 17 years old who are on the autistic spectrum and are struggling in education and to fit in at mainstream or other specialist settings. Pupils will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) but may not have a diagnosis however display traits of autism and associated conditions. </p>
<p>Wings School Notts is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).</p>
