You'll be able to select your location preferences within the application form, and we'll be in touch with you to discuss what opportunities are available in these locations.<br><br>The duties include:<ul>\n<li>Ensure the safety of children, parents and other pedestrians waiting to cross or whilst crossing the road.</li>\n<li>Take appropriate action when emergency or hazardous situations arise.</li>\n<li>Give clear signals to drivers, so as to stop traffic in a safe and courteous manner.</li>\n<li>Regularly assess the risks associated with operating at the crossing site.</li>\n<li>Encourage pedestrians to use the crossing point and to have regard for the needs of people with disabilities.</li>\n</ul><br><b>About you</b><ul>\n<li>No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided along with a uniform</li>\n<li>Have great customer service with children, drivers, parents, and teachers</li>\n<li>You'll need to be able to work every school day, therefore you won't be able to take holidays in term time.</li>\n<li>Ability to communicate confidently with adults and children, therefore good interpersonal skills are required.</li>\n<li>To be able to judge and foresee hazardous situations as they occur in relation to traffic.</li>\n<li>To be able to stand throughout and walk continuously for the duration of a shift, holding a school crossing patrol sign (up to 2kg) (up to 45 minutes).</li>\n<li>A sound road sense and an awareness of the effect of weather conditions on road users.</li>\n<li>To be able to work in all weather conditions.</li>\n</ul><br><br>This job role is within the Operational Services, level OPS2 job profile.
