There are 21 high rise buildings in Waltham Forest, which along with the other Building Safety Manager will form the bulk of your responsibilities.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href=\"https://fs-filestore-eu.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/Waltham_Forest/Role%20Profiles/JD%20%20Building%20Safety%20Manager%20PO10.pdf\"><strong>>> Click here to download the Role Profile <<</strong></a> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong> </p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, Health and Safety Regulations, and CDM (Construction Design and Management) Regulations.</li> <li>Act as the primary contact for building safety, maintaining openness and trust with residents to ensure safety.</li> <li>Lead the development and implementation of building safety strategies, including fire risk assessments and safety cases.</li> <li>Oversee contractors and ensure compliance with safe practices for maintenance and post-construction work.</li> <li>Maintain and manage the \"Golden Thread\" of safety information, ensuring it is up-to-date and accessible.</li> <li>Ensure all involved in building maintenance have the necessary competence and training.</li> <li>Engage and educate residents on building safety responsibilities and act on their concerns.</li> <li>Implement and manage a Mandatory Occurrence Reporting regime for building safety incidents.</li> <li>Manage resources to deliver Building Safety Cases for high-risk and complex buildings, ensuring compliance with regulations.</li> <li>Respond to emergency callouts, restoring services and supporting residents in line with business continuity plans.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Qualifications and Requirements:</strong> </p> <p>To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements: </p> <ul> <li>Must be able to travel to sites as required.</li> <li>Physically able to access all areas e.g., climb stairs, access restricted spaces/service areas, use ladders to inspect roof/void spaces, etc.</li> <li>Be able to attend evening or weekend meetings when necessary and arrange for appropriate out-of-hours and emergency responses</li> <li>Working knowledge of the relevant Building Safety Legislation (Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, Duty of Care).</li> <li>Working knowledge relating to managing the delivery of building safety compliance or the built environment.</li> <li>Relevant Asset Management, Construction and/or Fire Safety qualifications (Degree or diploma in construction or fire safety) or equivalent.</li> <li>Current professional membership e.g., RICS, IFE, IFSM, IOSH, IIRSM, CQI, etc. or currently working towards attaining.</li> <li>A good level of IT literacy.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Terms and conditions:</strong> </p> <p>The below terms and conditions apply to this role: </p> <p>Satisfactory employment references and CIFAS identity checks.</p> <p>Satisfactory declaration of interest.</p> <p>As a public authority, we must ensure that members of staff in public-facing roles are able to speak fluent English.
