Are you a qualified building surveyor with experience in social housing and a passion for making a difference? The United Reformed Church Retired Ministers Housing Society is looking for someone to join our small, dedicated team and help ensure retired ministers live in safe, comfortable, and well-maintained homes.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of repairs and maintenance across our 260 properties, assessing homes, specifying adaptations, and managing both planned and reactive maintenance. You’ll prepare technical specifications, oversee contractors, and work within budget, all while playing a central role in delivering and improving our asset management strategy. Your work will directly impact the quality of life for our residents, helping them live safely and independently in their later years.
We’re looking for someone with residential maintenance and surveying experience, ideally within social housing, and a strong understanding of adaptations for elderly or disabled residents. You’ll be confident communicating complex technical information clearly, managing budgets effectively, and working collaboratively with colleagues. Educated to degree level, hold RICS or CIOB accreditation, strong IT skills, and a clean driving licence are essential.

As a Senior Public Health Specialist, you will work within a team of highly motivated public health staff, supporting the Director of Public Health to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities in Hackney and the City of London. As part of our’whole system’ approach to tackling obesity, this fixed term role will lead the co-development, implementation and evaluation of a pilot programme of work to build workforce and community capacity to promote healthy weight. This will involve:
- Strengthening healthy weight competence and confidence among frontline staff and volunteers who support individuals at high risk of obesity, in various service and community settings
- improving awareness of, and access to, information about actions individuals can take to achieve and maintain a healthy weight
- Developing and implementing a plan to address and reduce weight stigma across Hackney and the City.
While based within a central team, the responsibilities of the role will be delivered through collaboration with colleagues across the two local authorities, health and voluntary sector partners, as well as directly with communities.
You will be educated to degree level and have significant public health knowledge and skills, acquired through training, experience or formal study. You will have a knowledge of the causes of ill health and inequalities, combined with a knowledge of public health principles and methodologies.

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a lively, dynamic and driven fundraising events team. Over the last decade, Breast Cancer Now has built up a strong events function, with community fundraising and events currently accounting for nearly a quarter of the charity’s overall voluntary income.
Due to internal promotions, we’re now looking for 2 new events officers to play a key role within the team.Managing the delivery of our varied portfolio of challenge events, currently comprising of running, cycling, swimming and trekking challenges and engagement events such as our Carols by Candlelight, supporter focussed events and key internal events too. You’ll be a supporter for hundreds of fundraisers, acting as a point of contact and an ambassador for the organisation to excite and retain our supporters.

You will support and motivate learners to meet their individual aspirations and goals and will coordinate the tracking of learners’ achievements. In your role you will lead study programmes to attain outstanding student retention, achievement and progression.
You will have sound organisational skills,&nbsp;and your ability to work cooperatively and contribute positively and creatively to a team is essential. Relevant mechanical or general engineering experience and qualifications and strong knowledge of CAD/SOLIDWORKS are also essential.
