We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Children's Social Care Assistant Team Manager or an experienced Advanced Practitioner with existing management and supervisory experience, to join our duty and assessment team.

You will have significant post-qualifying experience in statutory work with children and families, which includes child protection and a strong understanding of assessment, planning and intervention to ensure the right plans are in place and needs lead services and interventions are provided for children and families.
You will be a natural leader with the ability to build effective relationships, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and work collaboratively as part of a management team.
You will deputise when required for the Team Manager and work closely alongside them to deliver our vision and strategic values. You will have direct responsibility for social workers, including newly qualified social workers, students and support staff. You will support the Team Manager to drive performance and will know what good practice looks like.

As the Assistant Manager, you will play an active role in the day-to-day operation and provide key support to the Residential Homes Manager in their responsibilities for the effective management of the residential children’s homes. We have an excellent opportunity available for a Social Care Practitioner to join our dynamic Adult Social Care team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a Full-Time, 12-month fixed term contract.
As a Social Care Practitioner, you will work under the supervision of a registered practitioner to undertake direct work with individuals and their carers. You will use a strength-based approach to maximise individual’s abilities to live independently as possible and remain safe in their community.

Key responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>To work with customers and their carer’s using a strength-based approach to provide tailored advice information and signposting to help them remain as independent as possible and live safely in the community.</li>
<li>To identify and implement appropriate prevention plans that will avoid, reduce, or delay the need for formal long-term care.</li>
<li>To accept referrals for adult social care, complete assessments, create and implement support plans in line with legislation, statutory guidance, local policy and procedure and as necessary.</li>
<li>To identify and raise safeguarding concerns as required and contribute to development and implementation of protection plans which maintain the individual’s safety within the multi-agency safeguarding adults’ procedures.</li>
<li>To work in a person-centred way, ensuring that individual dignity is maintained, cultural and communication needs are addressed, and choices and aspirations are acknowledged. To provide or arrange advocacy as required ensuring that the voices of service users are heard, and application of positive risk-taking framework as required.</li>
</ul>
Candidate requirements:

<li>Competent level of IT skills and ability to learn and use adult social care recording system</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills – including ability to engage with individuals with a diverse range of communication needs</li>

If so, St Giles is looking for a Volunteer Peer Advisor to work collaboratively with staff across St Giles Trust and externally to develop a flexible, holistic and personalised pathway towards employment for clients.
About St Giles Trust An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. &nbsp;Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.
About this key role As directed by the Caseworker or Team Leader, you will carry out promotional and engagement activities to recruit participants, as well as individual needs assessments with participants, obtaining information from referral agencies where possible.&nbsp; You will support participants in carrying out individual and group activities to implement their plans and make progress towards employment, plus act as a Peer Advisor to participants, providing ‘support from someone who has been there’.
We will also count on you to act as a positive role model for what participants can achieve, help develop their confidence and make referrals for specialist help, including what is available within the project, plus, as skills develop, take on a small caseload of participants.
What we are looking for
