About the role
This is an exciting new role within a brand new contract to support the referral process from the Housing Solutions teams! The service focuses on providing floating and wraparound support to single applicants who are at risk of homelessness and are able to live independently, by providing a housing support plan towards resolving housing needs and support them into long-term, stable housing.
In this role, you will conduct proactive outreach with our participants to develop personalised support plans for housing for appropriate long-term housing options, including accessing private rental listings and understanding application processes for tenancy. You will help our participants navigate the resources available to them including benefits and support services, advocating for their needs whilst empowering them to take ownership of their housing journey. You will work closely with the Landlord Liaison Officer who bridges the gap between our participants and private landlords. You will work closely with them to achieve prevention and relief outcomes by assisting the participant to remain in their provided accommodation.&nbsp;
You will provide follow up support to ensure tenancy sustainment and successful transitions into permanent housing, keeping casefiles up to date with activities and documents, and escalating any high risks or high needs to the management team.

This role is ideal for someone who has a real passion towards helping to end the cycle of homelessness, providing support to those who need it to live in stable accommodation. This is a new, exciting and varied role with responsibility for technical training and capability management across Secure Patents, developing our people for a high-performing future.&nbsp; The role holder will establish and manage a ‘Secure Patents Academy’ to service Secure Patents (including the Private Applicant Unit and the Secure Examination Support team) i.e. circa 550+ staff with differing training/development needs.
The training/development currently includes: structured technical/legal training; informal technical training; core skills training; management training; Civil Service wide training; and specific/bespoke training for internal systems/processes.
The purpose of the role is to assess current training/development to ensure effectiveness, inclusivity, and efficiency whilst also considering scalability and sustainability for a growing directorate. As Head of the Academy, the role holder will set the Academy direction. They will be expected to design and deliver training/development programmes (to include both existing and new materials) for multiple roles; provide help, guidance, and support to our technical/non-technical people; support and develop our leaders &amp; managers; create/establish career pathways that value breadth and depth of experience; and mature our professions.&nbsp; The role holder will share our commitment to strengthen our talent pipelines, improve workforce agility and adaptability and support our technical/non-technical specialists to lead and manage their teams.
Reporting to one of the Heads of Patents, the role holder will provide matrix management to trainers/programme managers to deliver a diverse training portfolio. We need someone who can see and influence the bigger picture, ensure that informed decisions are made and know when and how to engage in the detail; and who can work closely with colleagues in our central Talent and Learning team, and our Secure Patents and Secure Examination Support teams; sharing knowledge and best practice across the organisation.

<h2>An exciting opportunity exists in the South Atlantic for a full-time Official Veterinarian (Veterinary Officer – Public Health) to join our small, busy and very varied practice in the Falkland Islands.</h2>
<h3>The Role</h3>
The Veterinary Services of the Falkland Islands Government invites applications for the post of Veterinary Officer – Public Health.
The position consists of a focus primarily on public health duties for the Competent Authority of the Falkland Islands. The public health duties include working in the EU approved Abattoir as the OV, and in fishery establishments (annual audits and inspections of vessels). Support to upskill in fishery sector requirements will be given. Other duties include participation in disease outbreak preparedness and biosecurity policies and eradication of zoonotic disease programmes.&nbsp; Participation in farm audits, import inspections and disease control allows you to see a lot of the Falkland Islands and really be part of the agricultural community.
Routine office hours are from 8am to 4:30pm, with a set lunch break between 12-1pm with some variations to hours during the busy slaughter season.
<h3>The Person</h3>
You should be a qualified Official Veterinarian and have at least 5 years’ OV experience working in food producing establishments or a similar field. Ideally that will include red meat EU approved establishments and a good knowledge of EU food producing legislation. Experience and a willingness to participate in and help review and develop disease outbreak response protocols, consider biosecurity and zoonotic disease eradication programmes would be advantageous.

The South Midlands Careers Hub supports around 150 schools, colleges and providers across Bedfordshire and Luton, Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire.Hub supported programmes bring partners together, to act with the shared aims of inspiring young people, and giving students the knowledge and practical skills to make decisions about their next steps.The South Midlands Careers Hub has a focus on tackling disadvantage, with three priority areas:&nbsp;1. &nbsp; &nbsp;Continuous improvement of careers provision in schools and colleges against the Gatsby Benchmarks through support, training for the education workforce and quality assurance.2. &nbsp; &nbsp;Increasing the number of high-quality work experience opportunities available for young people&nbsp;3. &nbsp; &nbsp;Boosting apprenticeships and technical pathways, including supporting the implementation of the Provider Access Legislation (PAL)Interviews for this role are expected to be on 17 or 20 October 2025.<h2>Additional information</h2>You will have excellent communication skills and experience of working collaboratively with partner organisations, developing strong links with internal colleagues and external partners.You will be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge of a subject relevant to the role, such as a strong understanding of local and national policy relating to skills and economic development, issues and barriers to employment faced by young people, and understanding of post-16 landscape.You’ll use your professional expertise and knowledge to support the delivery of the Careers Hub programme so that it is efficient and suitable to meet the needs of schools, partners, businesses and providers in line with the funding agreement requirements and strong project management skills.You will need to have a solutions driven and adaptable approach to working, thrive in a busy environment and have a positive approach to challenges.You will be able to smoothly manage processes whilst being able use your own initiative to 'think outside of the box’ whilst having strong leadership and line management skills to lead the team with a full complex workload.<h2>Company information</h2>At West Northants Council, it’s about our people.
