Positive Change Service – the domestic abuse intervention service for LBTH Children’s Social Care – is seeking a permanent Lead Safety Worker to work with perpetrators of domestic abuse. This post is specified for a male worker as per an occupational requirement to enable us to use mix-gender co-facilitators in our groupwork with fathers.Positive Change Service delivers psycho-educational interventions with perpetrators, survivors and children impacted by domestic abuse. The team works in partnership with the multi-disciplinary teams within hospitals and attends multi-disciplinary meetings on their aligned wards. The service is inclusive to those in acute settings who are assessed as having a learning disability, mental health diagnosis, or dementia. The service operates seven days a week, and staff are invited to contribute to weekend working if they so wish. The Duty and Assessment Team acts as the front door for Children’s Social Care and carries out assessment and short-term work. We work alongside and directly with children, young people and their families. Our ‘front door’ colleagues know good beginnings have a better chance of making good endings.&nbsp;

<h3>Key responsibilities…</h3>
<ul>
<li>To undertake child protection enquiries and single assessments (for children for whom vulnerability to exploitation has been identified) and exploitation screening tools for children open to the Duty and Assessment team, and to support colleagues in the team to do the same.</li>
<li>To undertake short programmes of preventative work with children at risk of exploitation whilst subject to assessment.</li>
<li>To co-ordinate Return (from Missing) Conversations for children open to the Duty and Assessment team, keeping updated records of missing children for reporting purposes.</li>
