About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for Estate Surveyor (Commercial)&nbsp;to assist in managing our varied portfolio of industrial, commercial, retail, and operational properties. This will involve property management activities such as property inspections, determining repair and improvement work and preparing budget reports as well as estate management work, assisting with rental reviews, lease renewals, rating and letting.
As Estate Surveyor (Commercial)&nbsp;you will provide professional support to a team of experienced Surveyors and be allocated industrial and retail estates to manage. You will be responsible for setting up and coordinating leases with tenants, organising maintenance contractors and developing the property service charge budget and reconciliation. In addition, you will seek to incorporate carbon neutral initiatives.
Other responsibilities include carrying out support tasks for the team including lease plan creation, answering title ownership queries, organising licences, assisting in legal documentation and negotiation, contract administration and collating information for rating or valuation surveyors.
About you:
To succeed as Estate Surveyor (Commercial), you will have at least 5 years property management experience (preferably in commercial property). You will have a willingness to learn and undertake professional development to develop a broad range of skills with the requirements of the service. Good IT, communication skills and effective work planning are essential.&nbsp;&nbsp;You need to work under your own initiative but operate as part of a team and be able to follow instructions accurately and effectively. Are you up for a challenge? Environmental Crime, such as Fly Tipping and Littering, is becoming a national issue but Dartford Borough Council are dealing with this problem robustly and are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our extremely busy Environmental Crime Enforcement Team.&nbsp; We are looking for someone, ideally, with an enforcement background, capable of working on their own but who is also a strong team player who can fit into a busy multi- agency environment.
Waste, Public Realm &amp; Enforcement Services is a multi service environment and you will also be involved, on occasions, with the work of other officers who deal with enforcement, parks and open spaces, events, licencing and town centre business crime partnerships. On occasions, you may deputise for the senior environmental enforcement officer, attend and contribute at regular information and best practice meetings, with other regional borough environmental enforcement teams, the KCC intelligence team, when required. Previous experience of working in a law enforcement, security, community safety or similar role is desirable as is dealing with the public in, sometimes, difficult situations with the ability to stay calm under pressure. Relevant knowledge of environmental crime legislation would be advantageous, but more important is the ability to be confident, diplomatic and assertive. Good ICT skills are required together with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. You should also enjoy analysing information and problem solving as this will be an integral part of the role.

<li>You should be capable of carrying out detailed investigations and interviews, often in partnership with the Police or Environment Agency, to tackle fly tipping and other environmental crime offences.</li>
<li>You will be required to prepare case files and attend Court to give evidence.</li>
<li>The interviewing of alleged offenders, statement taking, case file preparation/case building along with intelligence gathering, and dissemination, court attendance and giving evidence are key elements of this position.</li>
<li>You will be involved in promoting public awareness of environmental crime issues as well as other duties that may include dealing with unauthorised encampments, fly grazing, public space protection orders and offences associated with Civil Enforcement.</li>
<li>You should be conversant with relevant legislation and guidance such as the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 and the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.</li>
<li>You will be required to operate both on foot and in a vehicle, performing duties such as visiting sites of fly tipping and fly posting etc. to obtain and record evidence.</li>
<li>You will be required to take the appropriate enforcement actions, such as serving of a summons to court or issuing Fixed Penalty Notices for environmental crime offences.</li>
</ul>
Some evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working may be required for which a 10% allowance is paid. You should have a full, clean driving licence as you may, on occasions, be required to use your own vehicle, for which an allowance will be paid.

Warwickshire Police Special Constable - 2026 intake
Special Constables are voluntary, part-time police officers who work in some of the most important areas of modern policing.
As a fully-trained Special Constable, you will have full police powers, wear a police uniform and work alongside regular police officers and police staff, with opportunities for promotion and to develop your leadership and management skills.

Roles and responsibilities
As a Special Constable, you’ll learn about policing, develop new skills, meet people, enjoy new experiences and protect people from harm. You will be fully trained to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to handle even the most difficult of situations.
Special Constables work across a variety of policing teams, and when fully-trained can do everything that a regular police officer does, including:

<li>Patrols on foot and in police vehicles</li>
<li>Roads policing</li>
<li>Searching people, vehicles and premises</li>
<li>Investigating crime, arresting suspects and taking statements from witnesses</li>
<li>Policing major events, such as festivals, marches and football matches</li>
<li>Tackling local issues, such as anti-social behaviour and harassment.</li>
</ul>
After a comprehensive initial training period, you’ll be attached to a Tutor Constable for approximately 9-12 months. Initial training will take roughly 4 months, this will consist of weekend and evening training. During this time, you will complete a personal development portfolio covering various aspects of policing, and you are then signed off for independent patrol.
For those officers who commit the time and dedication, there are many opportunities available, and you are able to apply to work with the following teams when vacancies are available:
Patrol:&nbsp;these are the frontline, uniformed teams that respond to 999 and 101 calls, as well as proactively patrolling and dealing with any crimes they come across.
Safer Neighbourhoods Teams:&nbsp;these teams are based at local police stations across Warwickshire. They deal with community issues, anti-social behaviour and long-term problems in specific areas.
Operational Policing Units:&nbsp;these contain Roads Policing Officers working on the frontline, as well as being deployed with pre-planned operations.
Police Support Units:&nbsp;these are the public order units that support other police services at football matches, protests and marches. They also respond to incidents of major disorder

Recruitment Process
This is a rolling recruitment campaign.&nbsp; A member of the recruitment team will be in contact if we require any additional information to support your application.
After we have shortlisted your application you will then invited to complete a Values and Behaviours Assessment, and a Situational Judgment Test.&nbsp; You can do these in any order and at your own convenience over a 7 day period.&nbsp;
Please note that you can only complete these assessments with one police force and once registered with a police force and either not completing the assessment, or being unsuccessful, you will be unable to reapply for 3 months to any police force.
Your next stage will be an invite to interview with our current Special Constabulary members and other representatives of the force.

About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for a Civil Engineer (Projects and Infrastructure) to manage civil infrastructure projects in our varied portfolio of industrial, commercial and public realm properties. The role will involve managing projects ranging from carrying out tender exercises including preparation of all documentation, inspections and surveys, through to project completion and evaluation.
As Civil Engineer (Projects and Infrastructure), you will provide professional support to a team of experienced Surveyors and be responsible for communicating the results of feasibility studies with various external stakeholders. You will also have responsibility for the appointment and management of contractors to carry out works.
About you:
To succeed as Civil Engineer (Projects and Infrastructure), you will have at least 8 years relevant, UK based experience and a Higher National Diploma or recognised degree level in a relevant engineering discipline.
You will be confident liaising with external stakeholders and be able to coordinate and host meetings/ deliver presentations to develop projects concepts.
You will need to work under your own initiative but operate as part of a team and be able to follow instructions accurately and effectively. You will have a willingness to learn and undertake professional development to develop a broad range of skills with the requirements of the service. Good IT, communication skills and effective work planning are essential. This role requires travelling around the District, therefore a full UK driving licence is required.
