The Deputy Chief Accountant is responsible for managing the production of the annual statement of accounts including liaising with external auditors, and ensuring the Council has a robust general ledger control environment.

About the role
This role is responsible for managing the production of the annual statutory accounts and supporting disclosure requirements, providing technical advice and managing key financial reconciliations.
Other duties &amp; responsibilities include:

<li>To manage the relationship with External Audit and key stakeholders to ensure accurate information and explanations are provided in a timely manner.</li>

Sefton Council’s Welfare Rights Service is recruiting a Welfare Rights advisor to work as part of the Welfare Rights Team. The role will include supporting vulnerable people to overcome benefit issues from advising about the appropriateness of claiming benefits through to presenting at appeal tribunals. The role will work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments and organisations to support clients with expert welfare benefit advice in often complex cases.&nbsp;
We are looking for someone with significant experience of Benefit Advice work, ideally including representing at appeal tribunals, and an excellent knowledge of the full range of benefits legislation and case law. We require you to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to independently manage and progress a case load.
You will need strong interpersonal skills and experience working with clients suffering from health problems in a professional but empathetic manner, and the ability to respond sensitively to clients. You will be providing advice via weekly face to face advice sessions, including telephone advice line duty, email and in person in both local authority and partner organisation venues.
You will be expected to work as part of the welfare rights team and to work independently meeting the needs of clients, and have the support of an experienced Team and Team Manager.
You may be required to work a flexible work pattern including evenings and weekends across the borough.

The Governors and Head Teacher are looking to appoint a highly motivated and organised Admin Assistant to join our school team. &nbsp;The main responsibilities of the role would be to assist in the provision of clerical support for the school, including answering the telephone, dealing with face-to-face enquiries, correspondence and school trip organisation.
Recent office experience is a pre-requisite and previous school office experience would be advantageous.
The role requires the ability to work as part of a team and to strict deadlines. Excellent inter-personal skills, enthusiasm and high levels of accuracy are integral to the role and the ability to multi-task is essential.&nbsp;
A professional and discreet approach when dealing with pupils, staff, governors, and visitors to the school is required.&nbsp;&nbsp;The successful applicant will need to be able to maintain a friendly, helpful, confidential and professional attitude when dealing with queries.&nbsp;Whilst previous experience of working in a school setting could be an advantage, this is not essential, as training will be given.

The Digital and IT service within Reading Borough council is a very forward-looking Digital Service leading the in regards delivery tools and techniques available to customers and employees. In digital and IT, we have responsibility for the council’s web estate, software, hardware, application support, development, telephony, networks and cyber security.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

About the role&nbsp;
This role is a crucial for the next phase of our digital journey in Reading as a borough. The role will be central in our ambitious to take the lead in digital innovation, customer and employee experience. This role will embody the essence of a digital culture and will lead digital and web strategies and techniques to make this happen within the council and across borough communities.&nbsp;&nbsp;
You will work with existing partners as well as the tech industry in Reading to boost the digital culture of Reading as a Borough.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The ideal candidate must have experience of delivering website and content management&nbsp;
They must have experience of User centred design&nbsp;
They must have experience of interaction design and service design&nbsp;
They must have a good understanding of industry standard for accessibility.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
They must have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Governor Services is one of the fastest expanding services within The Education Space , with growth particularly in the academy sector.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed person to join our governance team, providing support for our Multi-Academy Trust clients, where your valued work will contribute to the team’s already excellent reputation.
You will be directly responsible for the provision of governance support services to a specified number of multi-academy trusts, school governing boards, and other commercial contracts.
The role will include providing administrative support for meetings including agenda preparation, delivering and advising on the role of the company secretary, supporting panel hearings including pupil exclusions and staffing appeals, conducting governor elections, and providing advice and guidance in line with the client’s legal status.
The successful candidate will have good working knowledge of schools and academy governance arrangements and statutory compliance arrangements.
Your profile

<li>You will have experience of working as part of a team in a busy client-focussed enviroment&nbsp;</li>
<li>Skilled in handling diverse administrative responsibilities, contributing to efficient office functions</li>
<li>Previous knowledge of schools and academy governance arrangements</li>
<li>Experience of working in a service that supports statutory compliance</li>
<li>A good standard of English and numeracy</li>
</ul>
