They feel very well supported by their managers, and they appreciate the learning and development opportunities afforded to them.</p>\n<p>‘Foster carers currently approved by the local authority are positive about fostering in Rutland’</p>\n<p><strong>As a Supervising Social Worker in Rutland, you will have the opportunity to develop a range of skills and develop expertise in different areas of practice; there are opportunities to become involved in all areas from the recruitment of foster carers right through to training and support, with both mainstream and kinship carers.</strong></p>\n<p><strong>About you…</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience of managing a full and varied workload with the ability to set and work to clear objectives and priorities</li>\n<li>A passion for children’s social care, particularly in Fostering and Kinship Assessments</li>\n<li>Sound knowledge of fostering legislation and national minimum standards</li>\n<li>Practical experience of working with foster carers</li>\n<li>A problem solving attitude with the ability to bring a range of interventions together to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people</li>\n<li>A registered Social Worker</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>About the role…</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completing Form F and Kindship assessments for new carers</li>\n<li>Undertaking Private Fostering and Step Parent Adoption Assessments</li>\n<li>Providing support, advice and guidance to local authority Foster Carers in every aspect of Fostering to enable acquisition of appropriate expertise</li>\n<li>Providing training and support groups for Carers</li>\n<li>Identifying placements for children appropriate to their needs</li>\n<li>Supporting recruitment campaigns</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This is a varied role that would suit an individual who has sound knowledge in childcare legislation and fostering, who consistently displays a commitment to providing high quality fostering services and who has great communication skills and demonstrates a “can do” attitude. Full time and part time hours are available.</p>\n<p>The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
