We’re looking for Senior Registered Building Inspectors to take on a pivotal role within our Planning &amp; Building Standards service. In this important position, you’ll act in a senior capacity within our Building Control team, providing a comprehensive range of professional services for a designated area both within and beyond the Borough of Haringey.
As well as plan checking and carrying out site inspections, the roll also includes mentoring and supervising the junior staff members, handling validations, and taking the lead on the determination of the more complex Building regulations applications. You will also be responsible for enforcement activities and dangerous structures inspections, both during the working day and as part of a rota for out of hours inspections.
Haringey Building Control are also responsible for safety at Sports Grounds in the Borough, and offer technical safety advise and inspections for other Licensed events in the Borough. Part of the role will also include assisting the BSR with applications on high risk buildings and ensuring that their KPIs are met. <h2>About the role</h2>
The GLA Transport Team is seeking an outstanding candidate to fill a vacancy left by an internal secondment. This is a part-time role of 18.5hrs and we are open to discussing how these hours are managed through the week for the suitable candidate and to meet the needs of the need. &nbsp;
Working in a busy team, you will act as a first point of contact for enquiries to the team, both internally and externally, including from senior officers and politicians, and respond promptly to requests. You must be able to cope with high volumes of emails, keep track of a large number of tasks and most importantly be able to assess and prioritise work confidently and quickly.&nbsp; You will be relied on to manage processes on behalf of the team and therefore will have outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.&nbsp; You will have experience in a fast paced office environment and thrive under pressure. This role forms part of our Estate Services structure and is a key function of our continuing commitment to providing a responsive customer-based service for our residents. You will be involved in maintaining communal areas within our blocks and on our estates, carrying out communal cleaning, grounds maintenance work, carrying out small maintenance repairs as well as and having due regard to health &amp; safety and security issues.

It is an essential requirement that you have a good standard of literacy, and as stated, it would be very desirable if you have IT skills as you will be required to use a PC/tablet at times, to submit weekly reports, participate in Ms Teams meetings, undertake online courses and assessments.&nbsp; You must hold a full, clean driving licence for a&nbsp;manual&nbsp;transmission&nbsp;vehicle ( our Fleet is all manual) and essential you have access to secure overnight parking if issued a company vehicle.&nbsp; L&amp;Q does not provide residential permits.
The Relief Caretaking Team&nbsp;cover for our caretaker’s annual leave, extended sickness and vacancies and thus can be asked to work across all 4 of the &nbsp;L&amp;Q operational regions London wide. Whilst we are primarily looking for cover in the West areas of London, you will on occasion, be asked to cover in any of the neighbouring areas. As such, you will need excellent organizational skills/time management and enjoy working across a variety of sites.
The 35 Hour week begins when drivers arrive at site and ends when they leave. As with normal employment practice, staff are not paid to travel to work. Specific hours of working will be discussed at the interview.
