About the role:
Horsham District Council is looking for a Civil Enforcement Officer to join our highly successful Parking Services team.
As Civil Enforcement Officer you will play an important role in keeping our roads safe and ensuring that efficient traffic flows are maintained across Horsham District. You will take care of car parking provisions, enforce parking zones, provide school safety patrols and manage the technology that helps keep our streets free-flowing and our economy thriving. Patrols are both on foot and mobile, working closely with communities to deliver a high-quality service.
The role of a Civil Enforcement Officer is a challenging but rewarding role and is suitable for those with enthusiasm for community engagement and a genuine passion for improving the neighbourhoods in which they work. This role is ideal for those who wish to develop their skills for a career in Parking Services or to obtain relevant experience for careers in other enforcement roles, such as the police service.
You will liaise closely with other agencies and council departments to provide holistic solutions to problems in our neighbourhoods. The role provides variety, builds upon a strong teamwork ethic and can deliver job satisfaction and fulfilment. We will support you every step of the way and can provide opportunities for you to develop yourself and reach your true potential.
The role operates on a shift basis working 5 days over the 7-day week including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. Rosters include two Saturdays and one Sunday per month. You will be required to work in all weather conditions and undertake a significant amount of walking, clocking up around 10 miles each day.
About you:
To succeed as Civil Enforcement Officer, you must hold a current manual driving licence for a minimum of 2 years (vehicles are provided). You will enjoy working with people, be friendly, polite, and willing to offer support, advice and assistance to colleagues and customers. Good numeracy and literacy skills are required, together with good observation and accuracy abilities. Basic computer skills would be an advantage, as you will be using a hand-held device daily.
To undertake the role, you will need a level 2 qualification; this is something that we are willing to provide to the right candidate. A full uniform will be provided including footwear, along with all essential equipment as required.

The post holder will be responsible for driving a HGV kerbside vehicle and loading within a team of 3 Refuse Operatives, ensuring a quality kerbside service in the Adur and Worthing areas.
Ideally, the successful candidate will hold a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in waste management operations and be able to demonstrate a knowledge of local authority refuse and recycling operation, however training will be provided for those who have a willingness to learn!&nbsp; You will ideally have an understanding of performance, risk and reputation management whilst working within the guidelines outlined in the Health &amp; Safety at Work Act 1974.&nbsp;&nbsp;
This is a physically demanding role and you will be required to undertake basic health and safety and manual handling training.&nbsp; You will be working in all weather conditions, therefore you must be prepared for this and it is also essential that you are an effective team player.

<h2>About the role</h2>The Brighton Centre is an internationally known venue of considerable scale; it hosts conferences, events, exhibitions, meetings, festivals and concerts with a capacity of up to 5,500. The Brighton Centre sells in the region of 250,000 tickets per annum for its live entertainment programme consisting of approximately 90 live performances and holds on average 20 major conventions per year, amounting to a combined total of approximately 255 occupied event days per annum. This contributes to an annual economic impact to the City of Brighton &amp; Hove of circa £1bn per annum, contributing to 18,000 jobs in the local areaThe post holder will ensure that the Venue is always presented to the highest standards and remains compliant to best working practice during non-event days, providing management of all working personnel, contractors, and crew.Working within an ever changing business environment, the post-holder needs to possess a strong quality driven customer focus, combined with a demonstrable ability to plan and monitor complex business change in an uncertain environment whilst managing events on site and processing large amounts of information on a daily basis. Join our dedicated Housing, Wellbeing and Communities team as an&nbsp;Accommodation Sustainment and Move On Officer, where your work will directly contribute to reducing rough sleeping and homelessness across the Arun District.
Funded by the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local government through the&nbsp;Rough Sleeper Initiative (RSI), this role is vital in supporting individuals who are at risk of or recovering from rough sleeping. You’ll work with a caseload of 15–25 clients, offering tailored support to help them sustain tenancies, access services, and move into long-term accommodation.
We are looking for some who is

<li>Empathetic and resilient, with experience supporting vulnerable adults</li>
<li>Skilled in&nbsp;crisis management, negotiation, and problem-solving</li>
<li>Comfortable working independently and as part of a multi-agency team</li>
<li>Proficient in IT systems and record-keeping</li>
<li>Knowledgeable about housing law, safeguarding, and local support services (desirable)</li>
</ul>
This role is a Fixed-term contract until 31st March 2026 with the possibility of extension (subject to funding) The hours are full-time, with some out-of-hours and weekend work required. Please note that an Enhanced DBS will be required.
