We are looking for an outstanding public health policy and strategy officer to support a portfolio of work that improves the health and wellbeing of Londoners.

Job purpose:
The Culture, Creative Industries and 24 Hour London Unit, with teams across the GLA, will oversee and enable the development and delivery of a substantial new pilot to establish strategic licensing powers for the Mayor of London. In order to ensure that this project is prioritised, funded and delivered at pace, a Principal Policy Officer is required. 
 
Reporting to the 24 Hour London Manager, the Principal Policy Officer will contribute to driving forward implementation of new policy and policy engagement for the Strategic Licensing Project and 24 Hour London team’s work. 

The project team will work with all London boroughs, the Metropolitan Police, industry and other key partners in designing and implementing a new Strategic Licensing Policy and powers. They will pilot a new Licensing Service that will improve licensing practice and partnership working across London, increasing economic impact, and creating a regional pilot that can influence national policy.

This role will require senior level stakeholder relationship management and co-ordination of collective delivery of the team’s objectives through cross-organisational working with other teams within the GLA and the GLA Group, as well as with a wider stakeholder base.&nbsp;

Job Title: Assistant Transport Manager

About the Role:
The primary role of the Assistant Transport Manager is to ensure the efficient &amp; effective running of the Council’s Fleet services, whilst maintaining compliance with all aspects of the operator’s license. This involves the procurement, management, maintenance and repair of all of the Council’s vehicles across a number of service areas.
You will be also responsible for managing the day-to-day running of an in-house workshop which facilitates the repair of fleet vehicles, provides MOT services for class 4, 5 &amp; 7 vehicles and taxi plating. In addition, the Assistant Transport Manager will lead on the planning &amp; co-ordination of the vehicle capital replacement program and any associated work streams.

Since 2012 we have delivered a volunteer led community library service at Avonmore library.&nbsp; In April 2024 we embarked on running a second community focused library at Askew Road. To support CAHF community library delivery at both libraries, we introduced the role of Community Library Coordinator.&nbsp;
Purpose of the Role: 
In addition to traditional library duties—such as managing stock inventory and delivering storytime sessions for under-5s—the Community Library Coordinator plays a key role in positioning the library as a vibrant hub within the local area. The library offers a diverse programme of activities for users of all ages throughout the week. Working collaboratively with colleagues, the Coordinator will oversee and help develop engaging library events, while also supporting the dedicated volunteers who contribute to the successful delivery of our community-focused services.
About You: 
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with enthusiasm for working in the library sector. You should be confident in promoting the library service and delivering excellent customer service to a diverse range of users. While previous library experience is desirable, it is not essential.

 About the team</h2>
The Land and Development team is within the Housing and Land Directorate. The Land and Development team supports GLA Land and Property Limited (GLAP), which is the Greater London Authority’s commercial subsidiary for property investment, development and assessment management. The team is responsible with the delivery of the GLAP portfolio of development on the Mayor’s land and joint venture interests, alongside entering into new opportunities to unlock development outcomes. &nbsp;
GLAP aims to deliver up to a total of 68,000 new homes on the Mayor’s land and joint venture interests, including homes delivered to date and looking ahead over the next 25 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Some of GLAP’s schemes include some of London’s largest regeneration projects, such as Royal Docks, Greenwich Peninsula and Barking Riverside. Sites are typically large-scale and mixed-use multi-phased development projects, working with our development partners collaboratively under development agreement delivery structures. While most sites are in contract with partners, others are in procurement, such as Royal Albert Dock. In addition to development land, GLAP holds a significant estate with investment properties, operational property and public realm.

This is a leadership role, ensuring that GLA Land and Property Limited (GLAP) is actively contributing to the delivery of Mayoral environmental sustainability and social value priorities and commitments. The Senior Sustainability Manager leads the implementation of GLAP’s Climate Action Strategy ensuring that it achieves its strategic goals and objectives. We are looking for 2x Assistant Development Managers to work with us on our ambitious development projects.
This is an exciting opportunity in the Land and Development Team to support some of London’s largest, most complex and interesting strategic development projects for GLAP.
<h2>About the role</h2>
This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of some of London’s largest and most complex strategic development projects. You’ll work across the full development lifecycle, from inception to completion, contributing to the Mayor’s objectives of building more affordable homes, creating jobs and making London a Net-Zero city by 2030. Reporting to the Development Manager, you will support a varied portfolio of development projects that will provide for new homes, economic development and regeneration of the land.
As an Assistant Development Manager, you will apply your understanding and skills to development projects which range from inception to completion. You will work collaboratively, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.&nbsp;

This is the perfect role for anyone completing their apprenticeship or graduate programme and/or someone with 1-2 years property experience.
<h2>What your day will look like</h2>
<ul>
<li>Directly manage the delivery of smaller development projects with guidance and supervision from the Head of Development as appropriate.</li>
<li>Support day-to-day property development activities under the guidance of Development Managers and Senior Development Managers.</li>
<li>Undertake effective project management activities, including programme and budget management, compliance with GLA policies and procedures, project monitoring and record keeping.</li>
<li>Coordinate meetings, minutes, actions&nbsp;and risk monitoring, escalating issues as needed.</li>
<li>Assist in generating revenue from development agreements and meanwhile uses.</li>
<li>Contribute to project appraisals and work with Development Managers and Senior Development Managers to prepare reports for approval.</li>
<li>Procure and oversee consultants and advisors, including drafting briefs, inputting in procurement and evaluation process, and managing contracts.</li>
<li>Promote an inclusive working and learning environment.</li>

<h2>Skills, knowledge and experience</h2>

<li>An understanding of property development and regeneration best practice, with knowledge of the London market and planning system.</li>
<li>Knowledge of the property development process and different delivery structures.</li>
<li>Involvement in development projects (or similar), including management of stakeholders and/or consultants.</li>
<li>Knowledge and interest in working in complex and political environments.</li>
<li>A property / built environment degree and/or experience in the development sector</li>

This role is based at City Hall, Royal Docks (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE) and at the London Fire Brigade, 169 Union Street, SE1 0LL.

GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
